The people of Gakpokorpe in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region are rejoicing over the arrest and detention of one Madam Masaga Gakpo. This was reported by Mr. Columbos Gakpo, a member of Gakpo family to the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa 100.3 FM Dzodze.
It is on the records of the community that, for more than 26 years, Gakpokorpe community was entangled in the web of allegations of a mysterious wizardry pot which was allegedly inherited by Masaga Gakpo and Amegavi Gakpo from their late father.
It would be recalled in a petition to the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa FM Dzodze, that members of the community allegedly suffered various degrees of spiritual attacks ranging from:
- Incessant deaths under mysterious circumstances
- Strange wizardry creatures sleeping with family members
- Mysterious termination of pregnancies
- Mysterious snake bites in dreams with its manifestations in the physical leading to the death of a practicing nurse
- Foreign electrification contractors running away and abandoning the contract to connect electricity to the community due to allegations of wizards chasing the contractor, among others
The timely investigation and intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa 100.3 FM Dzodze, necessitated the gathering of all relevant stakeholders to save the community.
During the community intervention arbitration, Madam Masaga Gakpo allegedly threatened the life of Togbi Dzadzi II, and his panel of chiefs by referring them “to go to the land of the dead to consult their dead father” an utterance which posed as a threat to the chiefs.
During the traditional arbitration, Masaga and Amegavi requested that the chiefs take them through traditional divination and sorcery to ascertain the veracity of the allegations being leveled against them. According to the duo, they are initiates of the IFA divination cult and believed in same.
To fulfil all righteousness based on their faith and beliefs, the chiefs complied with their request and the art of sorcery revealed that the mysterious pot is in their custody.
They admitted the verdict of the arbitration committee and Amegavi Gakpo pleaded with the chiefs for one week grace to privately consult the chiefs on the way forward.
After the one-week grace period, they refused to honor their plea, hence Togbi Dzadzi II logged a formal complaint to the police and Masaga was arrested for threatening the lives of the chiefs during the arbitration.
The people of Gakpokorpe rejoice over her arrest with the expectation that her junior brother Amegavi Gakpo would honor their earlier plea to surrender the mysterious wizardry pot allegedly in their custody.
