‘Dumsor is back’ – Ghanaians fume amid erratic blackouts

Ghanaians are angry over what is gradually becoming evident that the days of power outages shedding seem to be the creeping back.

Many Ghanaians want to have a prior announcement from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the power distribution company, so they can plan their lives.

They are fuming because they say the lack of a timetable to guide their activities during the power outages is frustrating.

A section of the citizenry claim this situation has left many of them in grave discomfort.

These concerns were also aggravated by the recent flooding in parts of the capital.

On Tuesday, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) blamed power cuts on some disruptions to the equipment caused by the torrential rains. It pledged to restore power close of the day, May 24.

However, it is unclear what the cause of the fresh outages is, but some Ghanaians who were hit by another episode on Wednesday evening have shared their frustrations.

Areas affected include, Labadi, Tse Addo, East Legon, Kasoa, Haatso, Teshie, Nungua, Adringano, Kokomlemle among other parts of Accra.
