The annual Costheta Educational support fund through the Duamenefa Foundation celebrates One Hundred and Two (102) Students from 32 second cycle institutions across the nation in a space of five years. The Costheta Educational Support Fund is an initiative of Dr. David Kotei Nutakor, a Ghanaian Geotechnical Engineer based in the US state of California.

This year marks the 5th edition of the annual event which began in the year, 2020. A minimum of 20 brilliant, but needy Christian students receives undisclosed sums of money in addition to Laptops, Woozoo Fans, Electric Kettles, and Rice Cookers. The awards go to the best performing students with marking score of aggregate 6 – 10.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Rev Diane Westcott, (Mamaga Duamenefa I) the International Director of Operations of the Duamenefa Foundation, Dr. Nutakor noted that he initiated the educational support fund award ceremony in memory of his late parents, Mr. Leonard Besa Gbede Nutakor and Madam Sabina Atsemuyo Evortepe, of blessed memory. The late parents financially, morally and psychologically supported his education. He further states, – “We all belong to a community, a village, a team and we should always remember where we came from.”
According to him, it is important to note that success is not only about titles, the awards, the recognition, and the money we have, but the joy of personal success resides in how much we contribute to the society by helping family and friends to build a better life for themselves and those around them, Dr. David noted. Treating people right will never ever fail you, also as you pursue your various university degrees, my appeal to you is to take your genius and your optimism to change the world after graduation in ways that will make millions of others optimistic too and most important of all, keep God first in everything you do, Dr. David Kotei Nutakor concluded.
Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, in his speech stated that the Costheta Educational Support Fund is to support and motivate students of various secondary schools to study hard, exhibit good morals, meet the set-out criteria, and qualify to receive the support fund. He also noted that this fifth edition of the Costheta Educational Support Fund has a total of 102 students from 32 different institutions benefitting from the fund. The Duamenefa Foundation would keep track of their performance in the various universities and we would not hesitate to extend further support in terms for foreign scholarships for post graduate programs for the deserving students, Mr. Evortepe stated.
Mr. Evortepe further states that, true education is beyond earning degrees, it is more than bookish knowledge. Education means inculcating moral values, positive thinking, an attitude of helping, attitude of giving to society and ethical values, these kinds of students are the ones able to bring changes to society, Mr. Ketaman Evortepe concluded.
This year’s event was under the chairmanship of Togbiga Dzoku V, the Paramount Chief and President of Dzodze Traditional Council, other dignitaries include, Togbi Adzenu III, the Divisional Chief of Dzodze Apeyeme Agorgorme Traditional Area, Togbi Esso V, Togbi Bedi Ahadzie V, Mr. Rapheal Amenyo, the Municipal Director of Education, Hon. Edward Sekeh the Presiding Member of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Francis Dagba, and the Intercessors of the Land, among others.
Some of the awardees who spoke with Fafaa 100.3 Fm, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David Kotei Nutakor and the Duamenefa Foundation. They used the occasion to urge other students to take their studies seriously and make their way to compete for the 6th edition, come, April, 2026.
