OVER 30,000 THRONG THE DUAMENEFA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT

Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region witnessed over 30,000 throng of people at the Dzodze Penyi Senior High School Park to witness the grand finale of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament, 2022 edition.

Representatives of National Sports Authority( NSA) led by the Regional Director Mr. Sarpei , Ghana Football Association (GFA)Regional Athletes Chairman, Dr. Savior Badohu, MPs,  MMDCEs, represented by Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor, Traditional Rulers, Some Volunteers out of the 28,600 certified members of the Foundation, International Scouts and reps from other scouting groups.

The Executive Board of Governors of the Fafaa 100.3 FM’s Duamenefa Foundation were present among them were His Eminence Person Hon. Lord Lucas Vodzi – Founding Member, Mr Francis Dagba – Founding Member. Rev. GIFTS TABLE

Two teams, Kopeyia United of Ketu South and Dekpor Great United of Ketu North emerged out of the 61 football clubs to play the finals. Korpeyia carried the day with 2 goals to nil. They carried the Duamenefa Trophy with the cash price of Ghc 4,000.00 in addition to Jerseys and footballs. Dekpor Mighty Rovers FC however went away with cash award of Ghc 3,000.00 Jerseys and footballs for the second position.

In the Ladies Division, the Anlo Ladies FC of Woe in the Anloga District of the Volta Region, defeated the Ketu North based Kutsinu United Ladies FC, 3-0, winning for the third year running.

Cash and gift items worth a total of Ghc 80,000.00 were given out to the various categories of competitors.

Hon. Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple Tanko

The headline sponsor, Mr. Gabriel Kwamiga Atokple Tanko sponsored the Male category of awards, from the 1st to 8th positions worth the sum of Ghc 46,000.00. The female categories cash and gifts awards worth Ghc 10,000.00 was sponsored by Mr. Houlesodji Kwakuvi Infinity. Other awards given out to the Athletes was sponsored by the Duamenefa Foundation.

Guedes Ribeiro Lopes Luis Pedro Macieirinha

Guedes Ribeiro Pedro Macieirinha, a FIFA Lawyer and Scout from Portugal, the publisher of Football Legal magazine together with Kassim, the German coach, Edem from China, Bechem Scouting Team, John Paintsil Academy Scouting Team, Akotoku Royal Scouting team were on the ground to scout for talented players. Thirteen (13) footballers were selected for further training and possible exposure to European Clubs.

The key facilitators are Mr. Micheal Helegbe, former black stars player and an official player agent of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament and Mr. Amazing Patrick Doamekpor the International Coordinator of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament based in the USA.

The Ghc 200,000.00 budgeted tournament has the kind support of His Eminence Person Hon. Francis Albert Nyonyo, member, Council of States Representative of the Volta Region, Office of the President, Flagstaff House, Accra; Hon. Dr. James Klutsey Avedzi, Ranking Member of Parliament Representative of Ketu North Constituency, Accra; Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor, Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Ketu North; Mr. Houlesodji Kwakuvi, CEO, Infinity Den Enterprise; Awadada Agbesi Awusu II, the Awadada of Anlo, based in the USA; Mr. Godsway Amedzrovi, Houston Texas, USA; and the headline sponsor of the tournament Hon. Gabriel Kwamiga Atokple.

The Duamenefa Foundation through its associates in the United Kingdom called Treasure of His Eyes, led by Pastor Adefunke Adeoye, used the occasion to empower single parents with equipment to set up their business, while vocational students were also given various equipment through the kind facilitation of Rev. Westcott. Dr. David Kotei Nutakor of California also awarded supporters of the Costheta Educational Support Fund.

Rev. Diane Westcott, USA volunteer working with the foundation was coronated as “MAMAGA DUAMENEFA”. The Queen Mother of Peace,  for leaving the comfort of her home country to promote peaceful coexistence in our part of Ghana. In line of duty to register people in the various communities, she was attacked by some hoodlums at Agbozume, led by one Papaa who allegedly claimed they were directed by one Togbi Adama of Agbozume to disrupt the activities. It took the timely intervention of the detailed security attached to her, to save her from the machete wielding man. This matter was reported to the police in March, 2022, hence the need to coronate her as Mamaga Duamenefa cannot be overemphasized.
