Kunaki family in disarray due to allegations of spiritual manipulation and orchestration – Duamenefa Foundation

The Duamenefa Foundation, a registered non-governmental organization with over 48,658 members worldwide, established purposely for promoting peaceful coexistence in communities, is continuing its investigation into alleged spiritual issues involving the Kunaki Family at Aflao Aveyiborme in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana.

According to a petition submitted to the Foundation, there is an ongoing land dispute within the Kunaki Family, which is currently before the court for legal redress. While the court handles the legal aspect, the Duamenefa Foundation has taken up the spiritual dimension of the conflict following disturbing developments within the family.

It was revealed that Mr. Gamor Kunaki was asked by Mr. Degol Kunaki to accompany him to court in connection with the land case, and he did so. However, when they returned home, Gamor reportedly began showing signs of mental instability. He is now living on a refuse dump in the community, a situation family members describe as both disturbing and heartbreaking.

Family members are alleging that Mr. Afakpornu Kunaki, who is the respondent in the court case over the land dispute, might be spiritually responsible for Gamor’s condition. They claim that Afakpornu saw Gamor escorting Degol to court, and shortly after, Gamor’s madness began — hence the suspicion of spiritual involvement in the ongoing family conflict.

In a related development, Mr. Degol Kunaki was also allegedly shot dead on his farm amidst the dispute. The Ghana Police Service has since launched a criminal investigation into the shooting, while the Duamenefa Foundation continues to investigate the spiritual aspect of the crisis to uncover the truth behind both incidents.

The Duamenefa Foundation engaged the traditional ruler of Aflao Aveyiborme, Torgbui Lakpo Agblevor, to obtain an update on the matter. In an interaction with the President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, Torgbui disclosed that the police had completed their investigation into the shooting and released the remains of the deceased for burial. He, however, noted that the condition of the mentally ill family member, Mr. Gamor Kunaki, has worsened.

During the engagement, Mr. Evortepe asked Torgbui why he had not referred the matter to the Paramount Chief for a proper traditional resolution, since the area has a recognized Paramount Chief. Surprisingly, Torgbui Lakpo Agblevor responded that there was currently a chieftaincy dispute within the community, alleging that another person had been installed as a chief bearing the same stool name, allegedly by the Paramount Chief of the area.

As a result of this revelation, the Duamenefa Foundation temporarily suspended the ongoing engagement to verify the new information and to consult the Paramount Chief for his response. The Foundation emphasized that it would continue its neutral and peace-promoting role, ensuring that truth and harmony prevail within the Kunaki Family and the wider community.

The Duamenefa Foundation, through its president, reaffirmed its core mandate of promoting peace and conflict resolution in communities across Ghana and beyond, stressing that spiritual, social, and traditional peace must coexist for communities to develop.
