Dzodze Apeyeme in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region was thrown into a state of shock and disbelief when Mr. Yao Awusa Ahiakpa, popularly known as “KPOENAVOE” to wit “look and be scared”, confessed publicly that he attacked his brother-in-law, Mr.Tao Kokose through spiritual manipulation and orchestration..
The victim became incapacitated and bedridden as a result of the black powder charm sprinkled across the threshold of his apartment. Few days after the open confession, the victim died miserably.
All attempts by the divisional chief through his community guards to locate Mr. Kpoenavoe for further probe into the death of the victim proved futile. This was disclosed to Fafaa 100.3 FM Dzodze, by Mr. Simon Worname, the stool father of Togbi Akpabi VI, the divisional chief of Dzodze Apeyeme.
It would be recalled between the month of April and June 2023, there were series of interrogations on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM Dzodze in this regard.
Various group of people including a fetish priest, Hunor Tadzie of Dzodze Apeyeme, the children of Kpoenavoe, the accused and other people connected to the petition were interviewed in an attempt to intervened to save the life of Mr. Tao Kokose.
Mr. Kokose, prior to his death petitioned the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa FM Dzodze, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe to investigate and intervened to save his life from the atrocities of Mr. Kpoenavoe who refused to obey the instructions of the divisional chief Togbi Akpabi VI.
The deceased alleged that Mr. Kpoenavoe sprinkled “black powder”, a spiritual charm, across the entrance of his apartment and rendered him terribly sick and bedridden. According to him, his offence was due to an amount of Ghc 6,500.00 kept in his custody by Emmanuel Ahiakpa, an ex-convict son of the accused.
According to the petition, Mr. Kpoenavoe, the accused was grieved because his son could not give him the due recognition as his father but rather chose to deposit his money with Mr. Kokose his uncle. Although, Mr. Kokose released the money to the family for the purchase of a plot of land for the ex-convict, Mr. Kpoenavoe allegedly threatened to deal with him. The plot to destroy his life was allegedly orchestrated in the shrine of one fetish priest called Hunor Tadzie. Mr. Tadzie allegedly disclosed the plot to the children of Kpoenavoe, the accused.
The deceased claimed he summoned the accused before the divisional chief where the accused had earlier admitted to the crime and promised to proffer away out to heal him, but all attempts by Togbi Akpabi VI to hold him accountable to his confession proved abortive, hence the petition to the Duamenefa Foundation for intervention.
The timely intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation resulted in a gathering of chiefs, assembly men, unit committee members, the Ketu North Directorate of the National Commission of Civic Education headed by Mr. Prosper Apealetey, the Ghana Police Service, and the general public to an open traditional arbitration at the palace of Togbi Akpabi VI.
During the traditional arbitration, Mr. Kpoenavoe, pleaded to be allowed to pay the sum of Ghc 7,000.00 imposed on him by the chiefs. This money is to be used to treat the victim. But alas! the victim died a few days after the intervention.
Mr. Yao Awusa Ahiakpa, aka. Kpoenavoe the accused is now on the run.
Watch out for further development………….
