I am the messiah; ready to make sacrifices for Ghana – Dr Ankrah

An Independent Presidential Candidate, Dr Sam Ankrah, has offered to sacrifice himself to fight for the underprivileged in society.

Describing himself as the “Messiah”, Dr Ankrah on JoyNews’ PM Express pledged to lead the charge in addressing the long-standing issues of deprivation and inequality that have plagued the country for decades.

He believed that the time has come for a generation to sacrifice their comfort for the greater good of the nation and posterity.

“Over the years, there have been several promises and several attempts but none of them have been able to yield what this country needs. With all the resources available to us. With all the human capital and everything that we have and we’ve still not been able to get to where we want to be.

“So it gets to a point where a generation ought to sacrifice themselves for the next and I believe this time that someone ought to. So I am the Messiah, I’m sacrificing my life to stand up there and fight for the deprived people of the nation,” he told Evans Mensah.

Dr Ankrah is seeking to unseat the two dominant political parties – New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) – in the next general election.

He noted that although he never planned to be a politician, the lack of political will to develop the country among the said parties has driven him to his decision.

According to him, an immense transformation would be experienced should he be elected as the next President of the Republic.

“I’ve never wanted to be a politician. I started by advising politicians from outside, writing articles and documents to be able to help and shape policy in a way to do exactly what I could do if I were in politics. However, most of these things I’ve done over the years have not attained the effects it needs.

“I spoke to very key people and they advised me that the kind of radical change I am looking for would be impossible to attain from the outside. It is only when you are at the helm of affairs. So I am here to give it a go, talk to Ghanaians about what I stand for and what you can do to change their lifestyle.”
