Gallopers I.C.T Center opens to public

School children within the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana can now compete with their age mates in the Western countries when it comes to technology. This was according to Mr. Collins Wonder Nyakpo, C.E.O of Anchor of Hope Visions International. He made these comments at the inaugural ceremony held at the forecourt of the Gallopers I.C.T Center, Dzodze, on December 9, 2023 to open the facility to the public.

According to Mr. Nyakpo, he received vision about the project when he was a student at the University of Development studies in Tamale Campus and gradually Gallopers I.C.T project was birthed.

He was grateful to Torgbui Adzenu III, Dufia of Dzodze Agorgorme and others for their immersed support.

The occasion was graced by the Ketu North Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Anthony Avorgbedor, Chief of Dzodze Apeyeme Agorgorme, Torgbui Adzenu III, the head pastor of Dzodze branch of the Assemblies of God, Rev. Dr. Solomon Pinstil and other stakeholders within the educational sector of the municipality.

According the MCE, though there are many advantages to learning ICT, there are disadvantages too. He therefore urged the teachers or the instructors of the facility to teach in a way that will be of benefit to the Ketu North Municipal as a whole.

Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor pledges his support and that of the Assembly’ in any possible way to keep the place in existence and urges the Chiefs and people of Ketu North Municipality and other benevolent organizations who wants to see the youths develop in I.C.T come together to support the initiative so that pupils of Ketu North can rock shoulders with others when they go out.

The said building housing the computers was built many years ago purposely to serve as a Community library but was left fallow and closed for years due to low patronage. The question many are asking is, will Gallopers I.C.T Center see the day of light or share the fate of the community library?
