ANLO: Empowering Girls, Ending Period Poverty: Global Water Promise Supports Salo DA Basic School

Global Water Promise, a benevolent organization based in Accra, collaborated with Togbi Agbotokor Agbelorm II, Chief of Salo, to donate sanitary pads to 65 girls at Salo DA Basic School in the Anloga District of the Volta Region, Ghana.

The donation, part of Global Water Promise’s “The Period Poverty Project,” targeted girls aged 13-17 who have begun or are starting their menstrual periods.

According to the Director of Global Water Promise, Mr. Peter Narh, “Salo DA Basic School is the first beneficiary of this year’s project, aimed at ending period poverty.

Our objectives include:

1. Donating sanitary pads to underprivileged students
2. Promoting menstrual health and hygiene awareness
3. Supporting girls’ education and empowerment

By providing essential menstrual hygiene products, we aim to:

1. Improve attendance and participation of girls in school
2. Enhance dignity and self-confidence

Togbi Agbotokor Agbelorm II expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Global Water Promise for their generous support. He pleaded with them to continue supporting school children in Salo and surrounding towns, bringing development and positive change.
