Aflao, Denu to host mammoth Covenant Prayer Walk Saturday

The Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region is set to witness a massive display of unity and faith as over 46,000 participants are expected to take part in the Covenant Prayer Walk on Saturday to champion peace and harmony ahead of the 2024 general election.

Spanning three kilometres from the Aflao Border Market to Swanzy Beach in Denu, the walk is being organised by the Duamenefa Foundation, a social intervention non-governmental organisation (NGO) renowned for its dedication to social harmony, which serves as a spiritual and symbolic gesture to seal the nation’s prayers for peaceful elections.

The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, said the walk would feature registered volunteers of the Foundation, members of the security services, representatives of various political parties, and the general public. For the first time, representatives from all 16 regions of Ghana are expected to join the walk, amplifying its national appeal.

“This is the third edition after successful walks in 2016 and 2020.It is a call for national unity as we seek divine intervention for peaceful elections and to seal the numerous prayers being offered by various institutions to God,” Mr. Evortepe told Dzodze-based Fafaa 100.3 FM.
