An NGO donates Sanitary Pads to Dzodze-Penyi SHS

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), operating in the Ketu North Municipality, in the Volta Region, Mama Agbaledzokpui II Foundation, has seen the need for all queen mothers in Dzodze to come to a consensus about how to stop some girls of Dzodze – Penyi SHS from engaging themselves in the use of hard drugs and going to hotels.
According to the founder of the NGO, Mama Agbaledzokpui II, Queen Mothers will be forced to come out with a by-law that will control the behaviors of such girls.

The Founder made the call when her outfit donated over 30 boxes of sanitary pads to over 200 first- and second-year female students of Dzodze – Penyi SHS in the Ketu North Municipal of the Volta Region on Monday October 2, as part of 2023 Deza celebration.

The use of unhygienic materials by some girls in SHSs and JHSs whenever they are in their menstrual periods is largely attributed to the inability of the girls to afford Sanitary Pads due to the cost. The market price are currently ranging around GH₵20 to GH₵25 per pack

The Assistant Headmaster in charge of academics, Rev. Fr. David Ankrah, who received the items on behalf of the school thanked the NGO for the support and said it would improve upon the academic standards of the school and urged others to follow suit.

Mama Agbaledzokpui Foundation was established in the year 2016 and according to the Founder, their main objective is to help the less privileged, the disabled, orphaned and to also help in the promotion of education and health conditions of residents in Dzodze and its surroundings.
