The Duamenefa Foundation, Fafaa 100.3 FM’s social intervention Non-Profit Organization, located in Dzodze, the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region has registered and certified forty six thousand five hundred and fourteen, (46,514 ) volunteers, between June 2010 to March, 2025.
The objective of the Foundation is to use its volunteers to foster peaceful coexistence and promote a developmental agenda of people within the various communities of the Volta Region.
The latest registration of volunteers took place on Tuesday the 25th day of March, 2025 at Klikor Avlorto and its neighbouring communities in the Ketu South municipality of the Volta Region.
Speaking to Torgbui Gbele, the traditional ruler of the Avlorto community, Togbi, claimed the entire community is rejoicing at the opportunity to join the Duamenefa movement, taking into account the great impact the volunteers are making within the various communities of the Volta Region. Togbi pledged to tailor his community members to work in line with the stated objectives of the Foundation.
“I am very happy we have also joined this movement today. We have been waiting for this opportunity over the past 10 years and fortunately for us today, it has become our success story” Torgbui noted.
“I am even surprised people came out in their numbers to register because when we called for meetings in the community, they do not honour the meeting in this number and I believed this revealed the zeal of the people to join the Duamenefa movement.
Agbotadua Tengey, one of the opinion leaders of the community also expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for the opportunity.
He used the occasion to advise other community leaders to allow their citizens join the Foundation for peaceful coexistence.
Hon. Joseph Mifetu, the assembly member of the area extends his profound gratitude to the leadership of the Duamenefa Foundation, chiefs, opinion leaders and registered members.
“We have been waiting for this opportunity before my election to occupy the office of assembly man of the electoral area”, He noted.
The Duamenefa Foundation, is a Non-Governmental Organization of over 46,000 dedicated individual volunteers located in 126 out of 600 targeted communities of the Volta Region. The registration exercise is still ongoing.
It is on record that these united individual volunteers are bound by a common mission—to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to foster peaceful coexistence of people through investigation and reconciliation of hitherto antagonistic diabolical conflicts and to promote a developmental agenda within the communities.
The Foundation’s very name, “Duamenefa,” drawn from the Ewe language, encapsulates the core message: “LET US CO-EXIST IN PEACE.” The Duamenefa Foundation was founded by its Executive President and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, also known as Torgbui Duamenefa I.
This noble cause found expression, not only through their extensive membership, but also through an impactful intervention radio program which is broadcast on Fafaa 100.3 FM every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
