The Assembly Member for the Avadre Electoral Area, Hon. Prosper Agbeli, has commended the Duamenefa Foundation for its intervention in the community, describing the organisation’s support as a major source of hope and relief for residents.
Hon. Agbeli made the remarks in an interview with Fafaa 100.3 FM following the impressive performance of Avadre M.A. Basic School in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), in which the school recorded a 100 percent pass rate.
According to him, the achievement is particularly significant because the 2026 examination was only the second time the school had presented candidates for the BECE.
He disclosed that the school recorded a 50 percent pass rate when it first participated in the examination in 2025. The improvement to a 100 percent pass rate in 2026, he said, has brought considerable joy and pride to the entire Avadre community.
Hon. Agbeli attributed part of the positive development to the intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation, which he said undertook activities aimed at supporting residents and contributing to the development of the community.
He explained that the Foundation’s intervention came at a crucial period when teachers and pupils were preparing for the BECE. According to him, the support contributed to creating a more conducive environment for the pupils as they prepared for the examination.
He further disclosed that the Foundation also registered members of the community as part of its intervention activities, describing the exercise as an important step towards engaging residents and understanding their needs.
Hon. Agbeli expressed his appreciation for the Foundation’s presence in Avadre, saying its intervention had brought encouragement and renewed hope to the community.
He linked the improved academic performance of the school to the collective efforts of teachers, pupils, parents, community members, and organisations supporting the development of Avadre.
The Assembly Member also commended Fafaa 100.3 FM for its continued interest in the affairs of the community and its efforts to highlight both challenges and positive developments within the area.
He said the attention given to Avadre by Fafaa 100.3 FM and the interventions of the Duamenefa Foundation had helped draw greater attention to the community’s needs and achievements.
Hon. Agbeli expressed gratitude to the management and staff of Fafaa 100.3 FM and the Duamenefa Foundation for their commitment and support towards the community.
He congratulated the pupils and teachers of Avadre M.A. Basic School on the 100 percent BECE pass rate and urged them to build on the achievement and strive for even better results in subsequent examinations.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to continue supporting their children’s education, stressing that education remains essential to the future development of the community.
The Assembly Member called on other organisations, philanthropists, and development partners to emulate the Duamenefa Foundation by supporting communities facing developmental challenges.
According to him, partnerships of this nature can help improve educational opportunities, address challenges in rural communities, and create better prospects for young people.
Hon. Agbeli said the transformation witnessed at the school should encourage residents to believe that meaningful progress is possible when communities receive the necessary support and stakeholders work together.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to all individuals and organisations that contributed to the school’s success, while describing the intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation as “a great salvation” and a blessing to the Avadre community.
