Duamenefa Foundation Directs LOC to Adjudicate Protest in Regional Tournament

The Duamenefa Foundation has directed the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament to formally adjudicate an alleged protest concerning the ongoing competition.

The directive is expected to pave the way for the LOC, in collaboration with the relevant sporting authorities, to hear the concerns raised, investigate the issues involved and take an appropriate decision in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the tournament.

The directive was officially issued by the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, during the Foundation’s Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme.

According to Mr. Evortepe, information reaching the Foundation indicates that concerns, allegations and protests have emerged from some of the participating clubs in connection with the ongoing tournament. He said the development requires urgent attention to ensure that the integrity, fairness and smooth organisation of the competition are not compromised.

He explained that the Foundation takes the concerns raised by the affected clubs seriously and believes that every legitimate protest must be given the necessary attention and handled through the appropriate procedures established for the tournament.

Mr. Evortepe therefore directed the Acting Chairman of the LOC, Mr. Christian Corley, to collaborate with the National Sports Authority (NSA), at both the regional and national levels, to sit on the matter and address the concerns appropriately.

He emphasised the need for the committee and the relevant sporting authorities to carefully examine the allegations, listen to all parties involved and apply the rules and regulations governing the tournament without fear or favour.

The Executive President said the process should be conducted transparently and fairly to ensure that no club or participant feels disadvantaged in the determination of the matter. He added that the objective is not only to resolve the immediate concerns but also to protect the credibility and integrity of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament.

Mr. Evortepe appealed to the affected clubs, particularly those who have raised concerns or lodged protests, to exercise patience and allow the relevant authorities to complete the necessary investigations.

He assured the clubs that their concerns would be given the appropriate attention and that the Foundation would ensure that due process is followed in resolving the matter.

He further disclosed that the Duamenefa Foundation would also conduct its own investigation into the situation to establish the facts surrounding the allegations and ensure that all outstanding issues are properly addressed.

According to him, the Foundation remains committed to ensuring that the tournament is conducted in an atmosphere of fairness, discipline and transparency, with all participating clubs given equal opportunity under the established rules.

Mr. Evortepe maintained that the Foundation would not allow issues arising from the tournament to undermine the objectives of the competition, which include promoting sports development, unity, talent identification and community engagement.

He therefore called on all clubs, officials, players and other stakeholders to remain calm and cooperate with the LOC and the relevant sporting authorities as the matter is being addressed.

He expressed confidence that, through collaboration between the LOC, the National Sports Authority and the Foundation, the concerns would be resolved appropriately and the tournament would continue without unnecessary disruption.

Mr. Evortepe reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that the competition remains credible and that every decision taken is guided by the rules and regulations established for the Duamenefa Regional Tournament.
