Duamenefa Foundation to Embark on Official Tour of Traditional Areas

The President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, also known as Torgbui Duamenefa I, has announced that officials of the foundation will be visiting various traditional areas to meet with Traditional rulers and discuss issues aimed at promoting peace and development in their communities.

He made the announcement during the Duamenefa Programme on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM in the evening.

According to Mr. Evortepe, the tour is scheduled to begin next week, subject to smooth preparations. The foundation plans to visit the following areas in sequence: Dzodze, where Torgbiga Dzoku V is paramount chief; Penyi, under Torgbiga Dadzie V; Afife, led by Torgbiga Adrakpanya VI, recognized as a dispute-free traditional leader; Avenor, under Torgbiga Dorglo Anumah VI; Klikor, led by Torgbiga Addo VIII; Aflao, under Torgbiga Amenya Fiti; and Weta, led by Torgbiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI, among others.

Mr. Evortepe explained that the tour will provide a platform to address ongoing disputes in various traditional areas. Specifically, he mentioned that in Weta, there have been allegations of two chiefs contesting the paramount chief title. The foundation is collaborating with relevant institutions and stakeholders to resolve the matter discreetly, as the dispute has negatively affected development projects in the area.

He assured the public that the Duamenefa Foundation is committed to working tirelessly to bring peace to all communities and foster sustainable development across traditional areas.

The president emphasized that the initiative aims not only to resolve conflicts but also to strengthen collaboration between traditional authorities and local development bodies. He said the foundation intends to identify challenges facing each community and work with chiefs and opinion leaders to implement practical solutions that will enhance socio-economic growth.

Speaking on the selection of the areas to be visited, Mr. Evortepe stated that the foundation prioritized regions where disputes and developmental delays have been most pronounced. By engaging directly with the paramount chiefs and their councils, he said, the foundation hopes to create a model of cooperation that can be replicated in other traditional areas nationwide.

He further highlighted that the tour is an opportunity for the foundation to foster dialogue and understanding among the communities. Mr. Evortepe noted that peaceful and well-managed traditional areas attract investment and development projects, and by addressing lingering disputes, the foundation seeks to ensure equitable progress for all residents.
