Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, has announced that the 2026 edition of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament will be exceptional. According to him, this year’s tournament is expected to surpass previous editions in organization, participation, and overall impact.
The announcement was made on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme, where the official letter was read by Abass Seidu, the programs manager. The letter emphasized that the 2026 edition would be “something else,” promising a unique and memorable sporting experience for the region.
According to the letter, several new activities have been added to this year’s tournament, including a Draft competition, a Bicycle Raising, Table Tennis, Corn Roll and many other engaging events aimed at broadening participation and encouraging diverse sporting talents across the region.
Mr. Evortepe expressed his appreciation to the Local Organising Committee (LOC), the National Sports Authority,(NSA) the Regional Football Association(RFA) Traditional Authorities,(TA) the football team’s (FT) for their dedication and hard work, which contributed immensely to the success of previous editions of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament. He commended the team for their commitment and coordination in ensuring smooth organization year after year.
He also officially acknowledged Mr. Patrick Doamekpor, Director of Sports of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament, who is currently based in the United States of America, for his maximum effort and strategic support toward the success of past tournaments.
The Executive President further extended his profound gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, Council of State Member representing the Volta Region and Founder of the Tanko Foundation, for using his resources to support talented youths in various sporting disciplines and helping them achieve their dreams.
Mr. Evortepe noted that the tournament continues to serve as a platform for identifying and nurturing young talents, promoting unity among communities, and fostering healthy competition among the youth. He stressed that sports remain a powerful tool for social development and youth empowerment.
He added that the Foundation is working closely with stakeholders to ensure improved facilities, fair officiating, and enhanced security arrangements to guarantee a smooth and successful tournament.
The Executive President therefore urged the public, especially the youth, to prepare adequately and participate fully in this important edition of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament, assuring that it will be one of the most exciting sporting events in the region in 2026.
