Torgbui Kadzahlo Dabrese,IV a Traditional Ruler and former General Manager of Kaleawo Fm, has commended the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM for their dedication to addressing community challenges. Speaking when he was called to comment on the issues facing the Anlo Afiadenyigba community, Torgbui Dabrese said he understood the costs and efforts involved in running radio programs and praised the foundation and radio station for using their airwaves to amplify the voices of the community to the relevant authorities.
Torgbiga Dabrese IV, made the statement on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Agoo Social Intervention Morning Show, hosted by Abass Seidu. The program, which has been running for some days, involves visiting various communities to hear firsthand the challenges residents face and provides a platform for traditional rulers to communicate these issues to the relevant authorities in search of solutions.
During his address, the Traditional Ruler emphasized that, having once served as a General Manager of a radio station, he understood the financial and logistical demands of running such a medium. He therefore commended the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM for effectively using their airwaves to amplify the voices of the people and ensure their concerns reach the proper channels for action.
He further described what the foundation and radio station were doing as a social responsibility, noting that initiatives like the Agoo Intervention program strengthen the relationship between communities, traditional authorities, and governmental institutions, allowing for timely intervention and support for development projects.
Torgbiga Dabrese IV, also used the opportunity to highlight a few pressing challenges facing the Anlo Afiadenyigba community. According to him, while the community faces numerous problems, he focused on the most urgent ones. He stated that the market in the community is not functioning properly due to the poor condition of the market shed, and he appealed to the authorities to repair the sheds. He also drew attention to the bad state of roads in the community, urging the relevant authorities to intervene and improve them.
According to the Traditional Ruler, when the community approached the authorities regarding their road issues, they were told that the ongoing Agavedzi–Adina sea defense project would affect their roads, and this was used as an excuse for inaction. He expressed concern that despite multiple consultations with the authorities, no positive results had been achieved, prompting him to make an appeal through Fafaa 100.3 FM for urgent intervention to address the community’s challenges.
He added that the program is vital because it gives community members a voice and platform to share their struggles, which would otherwise go unnoticed. The Traditional Ruler expressed optimism that with consistent engagement and proper follow-up, the authorities would act on the highlighted issues, particularly the market shed repairs and road maintenance.
“I am very pleased with this initiative because it gives our people a platform to be heard and their concerns addressed,” Torgbiga Kadzahlo Dabrese IV, said. “I believe that through such programs, the authorities will respond positively and come to the rescue of our community.”
The program continues to serve as a bridge between communities and authorities, giving residents hope that their concerns will finally be addressed.
