Rain water left hundreds homeless in Togo

Hundreds of people have been homeless since the last merciless rain which started at midnight early hour 13th October 2024 and lasted almost 7 hours. Water entered into bedrooms sending out the owners (kids, women, animals) from of their comfortable homes.

School items (exercise books, uniforms, textbooks, etc.) were damaged as well. School children’s lamentations left some passersby in tears as night approached with nowhere to lay their heads.

The impacted families are waiting for the government officials to intervene for minimum support being aware this natural disaster covered many areas of the southern parts of the country.

The communities impacted hope for no more rain for a few days to allow the majority of the water to be absorbed by the land or evaporated to help occupants arrange and get back to their homes.
