The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Ibrahim Faila Fuseini, has assured residents of the Madina Redco slum that the area will be properly redeveloped to ensure safety and provide a conducive environment for both residents and businesses.
His assurance follows the demolition of all rebuilt structures and shops in the enclave by the Assembly.
Speaking to Citi News, the MCE said the Assembly is committed to transforming the area into a safe, well-planned space that accommodates both residential and commercial activities.
“Currently, the government is in talks with the Assembly. We are exploring projects that will be useful to the community.
“As we pursue the 24-hour economy and market projects, our goal is to create more jobs for the youth within the community, rather than allowing the place to be used for drug peddling,” he stated.
