The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Emmanuel Evortepe Ketaman, popularly known as Togbi Duamenefa, has outlined the objectives of the establishment’s
According to him, the clarification become very necessary due to widespread misconceptions about the activities of the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM, with some individuals perceiving their operations as if it’s a court system of operations.
He stressed that both institutions were duly registered and processed through the appropriate legal channels and are lawfully permitted to operate without interference.
He noted that individuals who previously misunderstood the foundation’s mandate and attempted to disrupt its operations are now appreciating its activities in line with the 1992 Constitution of the republic of Ghana and existing media regulations.
Tracing the history of the foundation, Mr. Ketaman revealed that the initiative began in 2010 at Jubilee Radio in Keta, where the Duamenefa Programme was first aired. He later relocated the programme to Dzodze and subsequently established Fafaa 100.3 FM to further strengthen and institutionalize the work of the foundation.
He explained that the foundation was inspired by a growing concern over hitherto antagonistic diabolical conflicts resulting in the death of innocent individuals spiritual-related issues affecting many citizens.
According to him, victims often reported such cases to the Ghana Police Service, only to be told the matters were spiritual and beyond the scope of law enforcement. Similarly, the courts required tangible evidence, which is often unavailable in spiritual matters, leaving victims without redress.
To address this gap, which he described as a “lacuna” between Ghana’s legal framework and spiritual concerns, Mr. Evortepe assembled a team of experts, including the late Agbotadua Kummasah, Dr. Joseph Attipoe (Deputy President of the Duamenefa Foundation), Dr. Lord Lucas, Dr. Sogah, and others, to undertake extensive academic and strategic research.
The team conducted feasibility studies, strategic planning, and developed working documents which were submitted to lawmakers and relevant institutions. These documents were later forwarded to the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) for assessment to ensure compliance with journalism ethics and professional standards.
Mr. Ketaman disclosed that a three-year research project led by Professor Modestus Fosu concluded that the operations of the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM conform to journalism standards and ethics. The study classified their work as collaborative and intervention journalism, aimed at addressing societal challenges through informed and responsible media practice.
He further stated that the Duamenefa Foundation operates as a large volunteer-based organization with a Board of Governors and Directors in Ghana and abroad. The foundation, together with Fafaa 100.3 FM, continues to implement educational programmes, provide spiritual guidance, and promote public awareness across the country.
Mr. Ketaman emphasized that the activities of both institutions are lawful, transparent, and community-oriented, and are not intended to victimize or harm any individual or group.
He called on the public to actively participate in their programmes and initiatives, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and service to society.
