The Duamenefa Foundation has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Torgbiga Addo VIII, the Paramount Chief of the Klikor Traditional Area and President of the Council of Chiefs.
The condolence message was delivered by the Executive President and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, on behalf of the Board of Governors and members of the Foundation. He conveyed the Foundation’s heartfelt sympathies during the Duamenefa Programme, which aired on Fafaa 100.3 FM.
In his message, Mr. Evortepe acknowledged the significant contributions of Torgbiga Addo VIII to the Duamenefa Foundation. He stated that the late Paramount Chief was a key member and respected member whose leadership and dedication had greatly supported the growth and success of the organization. According to him, Torgbiga’s efforts and commitment to the Foundation’s mission were remarkable, and the Duamenefa Foundation respectfully acknowledged his work and wished him well in his passing.
Mr. Ketaman Evortepe also highlighted Torgbiga Addo VIII’s dedication to the Duamenefa Grand Durbar, noting that even though the program officially started at 10:00 a.m., the late Paramount Chief would arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m with his retinue of divisional chiefs and sub chiefs demonstrating true leadership and commitment. He described these actions as uncommon and exemplary, emphasizing the late chief’s exceptional dedication to the Foundation.
He further praised Torgbiga Addo VIII for his remarkable leadership, his unifying role among chiefs, and his lifelong service to the Klikor Traditional Area, describing his passing as a great loss to the people and traditional leadership.
Following his passing, a new Paramount Chief was installed, marking the ninth Torgbiga Addo.
On behalf of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe welcomed the newly installed Torgbiga Addo, wished him well, and prayed for divine guidance in his leadership so that he could continue the good work of his predecessor.
Under the leadership of Torgbiga Addo VIII, the Klikor Traditional Area witnessed significant cultural and social initiatives, including the strengthening of traditional governance structures, community development projects, and the promotion of unity among the various clans. His leadership style, marked by humility and dedication, made him a revered figure not just within Klikor, but across the region.
Torgbiga Addo VIII was also widely recognized for his support of education, youth empowerment, and cultural heritage programs, often collaborating with local organizations, including the Duamenefa Foundation, to provide platforms for young people to showcase talent and learn leadership skills. His active involvement in these initiatives earned him admiration from both traditional and modern institutions.
The Duamenefa Foundation emphasized that Torgbiga Addo VIII’s legacy would continue to inspire future leaders. Members of the Foundation called on the community to uphold the values and principles he stood for, ensuring that his vision for the Klikor Traditional Area and his commitment to community development remained alive for generations to come.
