Duamenefa Foundation – Fafaa FM Clarify Position on Allegations concerning Headmaster and other

The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Dzodze, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, has clarified that neither the foundation nor the radio station is opposed to Dzodze–Penyi Senior High School (Dzosec) or seeks its downfall.

He made the clarification during the Duamenefa Programme, following allegations by some members of the public that the foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM were deliberately working to tarnish the image of the school.

Mr. Ketaman explained that the foundation and the radio station have been closely following allegations involving the headmaster, Mr. Joshua Yao Vidzro, and some teachers over alleged sexual misconduct with students. He stressed that their intervention should not be misconstrued as an attempt to destroy the reputation of the school.

He noted that the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM have, over the years, provided educational support to qualified students of DZOSSEC, including financial assistance, laptops, and other essential learning materials. He questioned how the school could continue producing quality graduates if such allegations are ignored or left unaddressed.

According to him, the role of the foundation and the radio station is to bring such allegations to light so that, if found to be true, the appropriate authorities can take the necessary action. If the allegations are proven false, he said, the investigations would help dispel misinformation and prevent potential harm, stressing that all matters are still under investigation.

Mr. Ketaman called on critics to stop misrepresenting the work of Fafaa 100.3 FM and the Duamenefa Foundation on social media. He urged them to seek accurate information through the appropriate channels instead of making unfounded assumptions that the foundation and the radio station are attacking the school.

He further emphasized that claims suggesting the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM are against DZOSSEC are false, reiterating that their interest is to support relevant state institutions to thoroughly investigate the issues and help improve the school to become one of the best senior high schools in the country.

Mr. Ketaman also noted that the Duamenefa Foundation operates strictly within the provisions of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and is a duly registered non-governmental organization mandated to investigate matters and uncover the truth in the public interest.

He added that the foundation’s work has received academic recognition from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), now known as University of Mass Communications, UNIMAC, where a qualitative research study was conducted under the leadership of Professor Modestus Fosu . The findings, he said, have since been incorporated into academic materials and integrated into the institution’s syllabus.

According to Mr. Ketaman, as part of this recognition, the foundation was awarded a scholarship scheme under which Mr. Felix Abusah, a research student of GIJ and others are currently pursuing further studies at Rutgers University in the United States of America.

He concluded by reaffirming the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM’s commitment to accountability, truth, and the development of educational institutions, including Dzodze,Penyi Senior High School.
