He made the commendation on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during an interaction with Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, where they discussed development initiatives and issues affecting the Volta Region.

According to Hon. Gunu, both the Duamenefa Foundation and the Tanko Foundation are doing a lot in terms of promoting development in the region through their various initiatives and support to communities.

He expressed his appreciation to the leadership and members of the two foundations for their commitment and good works, noting that their efforts are contributing positively to the development agenda of the Volta Region.

The Regional Minister noted that the contributions of organisations such as the Duamenefa Foundation and the Tanko Foundation demonstrate the important role individuals, private organisations and foundations can play in complementing government’s development efforts.

He stressed that development cannot be achieved by government alone and called for greater collaboration among government institutions, traditional authorities, foundations, corporate organisations, community leaders and other stakeholders.

Hon. Gunu also disclosed that he had received an invitation to attend the upcoming Duamenefa Grand Durbar, scheduled to take place at the Klikor Unity Park in the Ketu South Municipality on November 28, 2026.

He expressed appreciation for the invitation and said, God willing, he would attend the grand durbar to support the initiative and interact with the people.

The Minister expressed optimism that the upcoming event would provide an important platform for stakeholders to come together, celebrate the region’s cultural heritage and discuss issues that could contribute to the development of the people.

He encouraged the organisers to continue using the platform to promote peace, unity and development, particularly among communities in the Ketu South Municipality and the wider Volta Region.

Hon. Gunu further assured the organisers of his support for initiatives that seek to improve the lives of residents and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.

He commended Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe and the leadership of the Duamenefa Foundation for their commitment to community development and expressed the hope that the collaboration between the Duamenefa Foundation and the Tanko Foundation would continue to produce positive results.

He said the government remains open to working with credible development-oriented organisations whose activities are geared towards improving the welfare and living conditions of the people.

The Regional Minister emphasised the need for stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives that complement government’s development programmes, saying collective efforts would help accelerate development across the region.

He said the work being done by the two foundations should serve as an encouragement to other individuals and organisations to contribute to the development of their communities.

The upcoming Duamenefa Grand Durbar is expected to bring together traditional leaders, government officials, development partners, community leaders and residents for a celebration aimed at promoting unity, culture and development.

Hon. Gunu concluded by wishing the organisers a successful event and reaffirmed his willingness to support initiatives that promote the development and advancement of the Volta Region.
