The Executive President of Duamenefa Foundation Urges EOCO to Uphold the Constitution and the Rule of Law

Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, The Executive President of Duamenefa Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, made up of over 48,654 registered and certified volunteers across the length and breath of the Volta Region and beyond, mandated to promote peaceful coexistence of people in the various communities, has called on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) under the acting leadership of Mr. Raymond Archer, to respect Ghana’s Constitution and uphold the rule of law, following allegations that the agency ignored a High Court ruling in its investigation of Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple.

He made this submission on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM, where he doubled as the Chief Executive Officer, during the “Agooooh”Intervention Morning Program

Mr. Evortepe stated that Sesi‑Edem Company has collaborated with the Duamenefa Foundation for the past four years, promoting development in various communities. According to him, since the beginning of this collaboration, the two entities have functioned as one body in their community initiatives.

He further revealed that when the Duamenefa Foundation was praying for support to push its initiatives forward, God brought Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple( Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I) to partnership. However, when some political opponents heard his name on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM, they were calling him with negative comments about his association with NAM1 , the defunct MENZGOLD CEO. The Foundation conducted an independent investigation, which confirmed that the claims were palpable falsehood designed to tarnish the hard earned reputation of the business mogul, by some self centered politicians

On the part of the Raymond Archer led EOCO, Mr. Evortepe questioned, why should EOCO defy a court ruling, whereas, the Adenta High court in its ruling indicates that “the respondent (Raymond Archer, led EOCO) plainly acted ultra vires its statutory mandate”, yet, he defy the court ruling and issued another fiat ? is Raymond Archer led EOCO, above the law? He fumed.

Mr. Evortepe described EOCO’s continued actions as unconstitutional and a violation of the rule of law, emphasizing that all state agencies must respect court rulings and uphold legal and ethical standards. He stressed that organizations like Sesi‑Edem and initiatives under the Duamenefa Foundation should be allowed to operate without undue interference, especially when contributing to community development and social progress.

He added that the collaboration between Sesi‑Edem Company and Duamenefa Foundation has produced measurable results, including promotion of youth and sports, community health programs, educational support, and livelihood initiatives for vulnerable groups. According to him, these achievements demonstrate the positive impact of partnerships based on trust, transparency, and shared goals.

Mr. Evortepe also called on the public to support institutions and companies that are committed to social development, emphasizing that false allegations and misinformation only undermine progress and community trust. He urged citizens to carefully verify claims before passing judgment on organizations contributing to society.

Finally, he stated that the Duamenefa Foundation remains committed to its mission, working closely with legal and private partners to ensure that community development programs continue uninterrupted. He assured that any attempts to intimidate or discredit their partners will not succeed, highlighting the foundation’s unwavering focus on peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.
