Spiritual Gun Shot fired by Demons to kill you – Self-Proclaimed Prophet

The Duamenefa Foundation is investigating a petition from an elderly woman, over 80 years old, who claims she was allegedly duped to the tune of Ghc 4,600.00, by individuals calling themselves prophets, who fired a gun shot in her residence and claimed it was an act of demons to terminate her life.

Madam Vicentia Ekuenyedzi narrated her ordeal on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa Programme

According to Madam Ekuenyedzi, she had been suffering from severe leg pain when she heard self-proclaimed prophets preaching on a particular radio station, claiming they had the power to heal various illnesses including blindness, strokes, and other conditions. Hoping for relief, she travelled to their residence at Tegbi Vakpormda, accompanied by her sister. Upon arrival, they found several people waiting to see the prophets.

Before her turn, she was instructed to purchase anointing oil as a consultation fee. Although she was told to buy 11 bottles at Ghc 100.00 each, she could only afford 10 bottles at a total cost of Ghc 1,000.00. The prophet poured the oils into a bucket and ordered her to bathe with it while leaving the residue on her body as part of the supposed healing ritual.

She further alleged that the prophets told her that a charm had been buried on her compound and demanded GHC 3,000 to remove it. She managed to raise GHC 2,000 and handed it to them, later sending an additional GHC 500 through Mobile Money for fuel, based on their claim that they needed transportation to travel to her Aflao residence.

At her residence, she said she was asked to stand in a bowl of water while they prayed over her. During this ritual, she heard a loud sound similar to a gunshot, which scared her, but the prophets insisted it was a spiritual gun shot meant to kill her .

After the ritual, the prophets requested an additional GHC 3,000, claiming the charm was spiritually powerful. At that moment, her brother—who later petitioned the Duamenefa Foundation—arrived and questioned the prophets. They allegedly left the house immediately without removing any charm and never returned.

Seeking justice, Madam Ekuenyedzi petitioned the Duamenefa Foundation to investigate and uncover the truth.

As part of the investigation, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe reached out to the petitioner, Pastor Miller Amuzu John, who narrates his version of the story to Fafaa 100. 3 Fm listeners. During their interaction, Pastor Miller confirmed that he came to visit his sister on the day of the event and met the two men calling themselves prophets in the house. He also stated that he heard the sound of a gunshot-like noise coming from the room while they were inside with his sister, which raised his suspicion and led him to question them.

During the programme, Mr. Evortepe cautioned the general public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to such schemes. He stressed that the Bible does not support the practice of taking money from sick individuals before praying for them. According to him, praying for the sick is free of charge, and no genuine man of God demands consultation fees.

He added that any person who takes money before praying for the sick and still calls himself a man of God is not practicing according to biblical teachings, and he urged the public to take careful note.

Furthermore, Mr. Evortepe appealed to radio stations that allow self-proclaimed prophets and supposed men of God to allegedly use their platforms to defraud people to stop such practices, emphasizing that it is against the law. He encouraged media houses to prioritize the safety of the public by refusing to empower individuals who exploit vulnerable people under the guise of spiritual healing.

The Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 109.3 Fm has assured its listeners that it will thoroughly investigate the matter to ensure justice and accountability.
