Saint Paul’s Hospital Upgrades Emergency Unit to Enhance Patient Care

Saint Paul’s Hospital has recently upgraded its emergency unit, introducing modern facilities, new equipment, and expanded treatment areas to enhance patient care and improve response times. The upgraded unit aims to provide faster, more efficient emergency treatment for patients in critical condition and strengthen the hospital’s ability to handle emergencies effectively.

According to hospital officials, the improvements include state-of-the-art medical equipment, better patient monitoring systems, and more comfortable treatment spaces. These enhancements are expected to reduce waiting times and improve outcomes for patients receiving emergency care.

Speaking on the upgrade, Dr. Benedictus Seyram Dagbi, the Hospital Administrator, expressed his satisfaction, noting that the improvements reflect the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare. He praised the upgrade, stating, “This is a great development. What the hospital has done is commendable, and other facilities should strive to achieve the same. God should bless this effort as it puts smiles on patients’ faces.”

Dr. Dagbi further stated that the upgrade of the emergency unit was done to honor the late founder of Saint Paul’s Hospital, Dr. Doe Paul Dagbi, whose vision was to provide quality healthcare for the community. He added that when they received a letter from Duamenefa Foundation stating that they would be visiting today, the hospital chose to schedule the program on the same date to coincide with the foundation’s visit.

He also highlighted that the emergency unit now includes a specialized department for newborn babies experiencing health challenges, staffed by trained specialists who provide critical care. He emphasized that the unit is not only for Saint Paul’s Hospital patients but also serves neighboring hospitals. He urged nearby hospitals to refer newborns with complications to this unit, noting that they have an incubator available to care for such children.

Dr. Dagbi further assured the public that the hospital accepts NHIS in its operations, making services accessible and affordable to patients covered under the national health insurance scheme.

Hospital staff welcomed the upgrade, emphasizing that the new facilities will allow them to provide more effective and timely care to patients in critical conditions. Community members also expressed appreciation, highlighting the importance of modernized emergency services for the growing population in the area.

The hospital management added that the upgrade is part of a broader initiative to improve healthcare delivery in the Volta Region, including investments in staff training, patient care systems, and other hospital facilities. They assured the public that continuous efforts will be made to maintain high standards of emergency care.

The Duamenefa Foundation, Tanko Foundation, and other donors, who visited the hospital on the same day, joined in celebrating the upgraded emergency unit, praying with patients and staff, and providing meals to those in the hospital. Their visit added a sense of joy and encouragement to the patients, reflecting the strong community support for healthcare in the region.
