Ketu North : Duamenefa Regional Tournament kicks off

The 2024 edition of the Duamenefa under 17 Regional Tournament organized by Fafaa 100.3 F iMn collaboration with its NGO dubbed the Duamenefa Foundation in Dzodze, in the Ketu North municipality of the Volta Region, kicked off yesterday, Saturday, 4th May 2024.

The tournament is proudly sponsored by Hon. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple ( Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I ) The CEO of Tanko Foundation.

The Duamenefa Regional tournament’s objective is to identify and promote hidden football talents embedded in the youth of the Volta Region.

The tournament kicked off yesterday at all the match centres across the region.

Thirty-eight football teams are competing in the football division of the tournament, while volleyball, the marathon, and tug of peace participating communities are also gearing up to join the major event.

A FEW OF THE TEAMS COMPETING

During an interative program penultimate the kick start, the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and C.E.O. of Fafaa FM 100.3, Mr. Emmanuel Evortepe Ketaman, also known as Torgbui Duamenefa I, engaged the main sponsor of the tournament, Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I, Tanko Foundation’s C.E.O. to explain what he benefits from the sponsorship of this major event which budget exceeds Ghc 300,000.00 (Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis). According to Hon. Atokple, ” It has been a great pleasure and blessing partnering the Duamenefa Foundation for the past three editions of the tournament.”

According to Mr. Atokple, God has been faithful unto him, and his business has experience a major boost ever since he decided to spend his resources to promote development of youth and sports through the Duamenefa Foundation.

He further states that he will continue to partner Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa FM in this tournament and other activities “till Thy kingdom comes”. Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I urged all the participating teams to embrace peace before, during and after the tournament. “We are all one people even though from different backgrounds and I believe our aim is to develop our God-given talents. Let us remind ourselves that without peace and humility, we cannot achieve the desire results.”

He states that, “We all know that the hallmark of Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa radio is to co-exist in peace, so whatever may happen, let’s remember peace is what will take us far.”

The grand finale of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday 7, September 2024 at the Dzodze – Penyi SHS park, where different packages of awards would be presented to deserving participants
