Duamenefa Tournament: Greater Accra Versus Volta Region in Thrilling Final Showdown

The Duamenefa Regional Tournament is heading for an electrifying conclusion as Greater Accra Region prepares to face off against Volta Region in a thrilling final match.

The showdown is scheduled for the Grand Durbar Day, Saturday, 18th October 2025, at the Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School Park.

Viepe Tokor Eleven FC, representing the Volta Region, while Banana Inn FC stands for the Greater Accra Region. After an intense season of competitive fixtures, both teams have earned their spot in the finals and will now battle for supremacy, regional pride, the trophy, cash award and others.

According to the Executive President of the Duamenefa Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, during a media encounter, he states, “The Duamenefa Tournament is not just a football event — it is a platform for promoting peaceful coexistence of people in the various communities, discipline, and youth development through sports.” The tournament has become a beacon of community engagement and talent discovery.

This year’s tournament is proudly sponsored by H E. Dr. Gabriel Kwamiga Tanko Atokple, a Council of State Member at the Presidency representing the Volta Region. His continuous support has been instrumental in advancing the vision of the tournament, which goes beyond football to foster social cohesion and opportunity for the youth.

The Executive President, further called on all participating clubs to abide by the rules and maintain discipline throughout the competition. He stressed that the tournament is not just about who wins the trophy but about helping talented young players reach their dreams. Scouts from Europe will be present to identify rising stars, but selections will consider not only skill but also behavior and adherence to fair play.

Supporters have also been advised to conduct themselves peacefully. Any form of misconduct, violence, or lawlessness will be dealt with accordingly, as the tournament is firmly grounded in promoting peace and unity within the communities it serves.

As the countdown to the final begins, excitement continues to build across the regions. Thousands of spectators are expected to converge at Dzodze for what promises to be a landmark event in the tournament’s history.
