Duamenefa Foundation Warns Public to Be Vigilant Against Fraudsters

Duamenefa Foundation has issued a caution to the general public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid falling victim to fraudsters. The foundation emphasized growing concerns over fraudulent activities and urged individuals to be alert when dealing with financial transactions and suspicious offers.

The caution was issued by the Executive President of Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa social intervention programme. He explained that the foundation has recently received numerous complaints from members of the public alleging that some individuals are using the name of Duamenefa Foundation to extort money from unsuspecting victims.

According to Mr. Evortepe, these individuals falsely present themselves as representatives of the foundation and demand money under the pretense of offering assistance or engaging in official activities. He described such actions as fraudulent and warned the public to disregard any such requests.

He stressed that Duamenefa Foundation does not operate in that manner and does not take money from anyone in the name of providing support or carrying out its activities. He further clarified that all petitions submitted to the foundation for intervention or investigation are handled free of charge, and no fees are required at any stage of the process.

Mr. Evortepe therefore urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes. He cautioned that anyone who receives calls or messages from individuals claiming to represent Duamenefa Foundation or Fafaa 100.3 FM and demanding money should not engage in any financial transactions with them.

He emphasized that such individuals do not represent the principles and operations of either Duamenefa Foundation or Fafaa 100.3 FM. He added that anyone who proceeds to make payments after this warning does so at their own risk.

To ensure proper communication and verification, Mr. Evortepe noted that Duamenefa Foundation operates only one official hotline for all inquiries and clarifications. He advised the public to reach out through the number 0242313766 whenever they have doubts or need confirmation regarding any activity involving the foundation.

He further encouraged the public to report any suspected fraudulent activity to the appropriate authorities to help curb such practices. He stressed that collective vigilance and timely reporting are key to protecting individuals and the broader community from fraud.

Mr. Evortepe also highlighted the increasing trend of impersonation and mobile money fraud in recent times, noting that fraudsters often take advantage of people’s trust in reputable organizations to carry out their schemes. He urged the public to always verify information before taking any action involving money.

He added that individuals should be cautious of unsolicited calls, messages, or promises that require immediate payment, as such tactics are commonly used by fraudsters to pressure victims. He advised that legitimate organizations always follow proper procedures and do not demand payments through unofficial channels.

Mr. Evortepe concluded by reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to transparency, integrity, and public service, assuring the public that Duamenefa Foundation will continue to operate with honesty and remain focused on its mission of supporting society without exploiting individuals.
