Duamenefa Foundation Investigation and Intervention to Unravel Mysterious Allegations of Spiritual Attack Continues

Atsiame -Volta Region

The Duamenefa Foundation is intensifying its investigations into a growing chieftaincy and spiritual leadership dispute within the Gblonya family of Atsiame, where two individuals are laying claim to the traditional stool title of Torgbui Gblonya III.

The situation has attracted significant public attention, especially following reports that one of the claimants has fallen seriously ill — a development some believe could be spiritually linked to the ongoing tension. Others suspect that hidden forces may be influencing the dispute, prompting the Duamenefa Foundation to launch a deeper inquiry into the matter with the goal of uncovering the truth and ensuring justice.

The case featured prominently on the edition of the Duamenefa Programme, hosted by the Executive President / CEO Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe on Fafaa 100.3 FM, where two key members of the Gblonya family — WOI. George Gblonya, a military officer, and Mr. Felix Butame Gblonya, the family secretary — were engaged in a live discussion.

During the programme, Mr. George Gblonya accused Mr. Felix Butame of holding too many spiritual and administrative positions within the family. According to him, Mr. Felix currently occupies the roles of family secretary, regent, stool father, traditional priest, and secretary of the Gblonya family cemetery, among others. He questioned whether these responsibilities had been properly delegated or whether one person could reasonably and spiritually manage them all.

When pressed by Duamenefa, Mr. George could not confirm if formal procedures were followed in assigning these roles. In response, Mr. Felix Butame admitted to holding several positions but claimed it was only because many family members — particularly Christians — are unwilling to take on traditional roles, leaving him no choice but to step in and preserve the customs.

This explanation, however, has raised more questions than answers in the community. Many listeners and concerned citizens are asking:

-Can one person truly hold so many spiritual roles without negative consequences?

-What are the spiritual implications of one individual acting as regent, stool father, and priest?

-If Christians are not willing to serve, does that mean there is no one else in Atsiame qualified to take over these responsibilities?

-Could this concentration of spiritual power have long-term negative effects on the family and the larger community?

In addition, during the conversation, Mr. Felix Butame appeared to distance himself from Mr. George Gblonya, despite their shared surname. When questioned, Mr. Felix stated that he does not recognize Mr. George and his faction as family members because they had taken the matter to court — a move he believes has divided the Gblonya lineage.

The Duamenefa Foundation has assured the public that it will continue to follow every angle of the situation — spiritual, social, and legal — to uncover the truth and help restore peace within the Gblonya family and the Atsiame community.

Watch out for further developments….
