Duamenefa Foundation Continues Investigation Against a Man of God Over Alleged Spiritual Practices Causing His Stepdaughter’s Illness

The Duamenefa Foundation has intensified its ongoing investigation into Apostle Ashiabi, who is accused of allegedly causing the mysterious illness of his stepdaughter through controversial spiritual practices. The alarming claim involves the use of a lemon pierced with 41 pins; a ritual that has raised serious concerns within the local faith community.

In an earlier interrogation, Apostle Ashiabi failed to provide consistent information about the origin of the practice. Initially, he claimed to have seen it on Atuguba TV, but Dr. Atuguba firmly denied this, challenging the Apostle to provide concrete evidence. When he could not, Apostle Ashiabi later stated he saw the practice on Meta Al, but Duamenefa Foundation’s research revealed that the rituals seen on Meta Al were associated with witchcraft practices, further deepening suspicion.

As investigations progressed, the Foundation discovered that Apostle Ashiabi is a member of a WhatsApp group known as the Awayevu Platform. This group reportedly discusses spiritual topics, herbal practices, and other unconventional religious methods. The platform’s founder, Evangelist Awayevu, confirmed during an inquiry that he created the group with the aim of teaching the word of God, using herbs for healing, and supporting people in times of need. However, his responses failed to convince the Duamenefa team, who found contradictions and doctrinal inaccuracies in his explanations.

Further scrutiny led to the interrogation of Apostle Hayford Gavor, a preacher and known contributor to the Awayevu platform. Apostle Gavor admitted to teaching on the platform and strongly defended the use of herbs, asserting that God instructed humans to use them for healing. He went further to claim that herbs like lemon and guava could be used for “back to sender” spiritual operations and quoted Romans 8:19–21 in an attempt to support his view. However, Duamenefa’s theological experts highlighted that the scripture he referenced did not align with or support his claims when considered in proper biblical context.

Throughout the interrogation, Apostle Gavor gave responses that were viewed by the Duamenefa Foundation as misleading and lacking scriptural backing. At a certain point, his posture became confrontational; he appeared to be dictating the terms of the discussion by suggesting that the Foundation ask only the questions he was comfortable answering. The Foundation noted that his approach undermined the seriousness of the investigation and showed a reluctance to be transparent about his teachings and practices.

In a related development, Hon. Atoklo, representing the family of the sick girl, provided an emotional update. He shared that the girl is now showing signs of gradual healing, which has brought some relief to the family. However, this hopeful news came alongside a heartbreaking loss the passing of the girl’s grandmother, who had been fervently praying and standing in faith for her granddaughter’s recovery. The Duamenefa Foundation extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, acknowledging the grandmother’s devotion and spiritual strength during the crisis.

The Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to continue the investigation thoroughly. It aims not only to uncover the full truth behind the allegations but also to protect the young girl from further harm and ensure her complete healing both physically and spiritually.

As the investigation continues, the Duamenefa Foundation urges any other individuals with relevant information to come forward in support of justice, truth, and community well-being and to save the young girl from her illness.
