Ave-Afiadenyigba in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region has welcomed the Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes’ UK’s, free skills acquisition programme, aimed at equipping members of the community with practical skills to enhance their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.
The initiative forms part of a wider programme by the Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes to provide free skills training to beneficiaries across various traditional areas. The programme Duamenefa Volunteers within Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, next was Klikor in the Ketu South Municipality and now the Ave-Afiadenyigba Traditional Area, where preparations have been completed for its implementation.
Giving an update on the programme, Duamenefa Community Reporter for the area, Mr. Adevuh Kwashie, interacted with the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, ahead of the programme
According to Mr. Adevuh Kwashie, the necessary arrangements have been made for the successful organization of the programme, with the traditional rulers of the area showing strong support for the initiative.
He disclosed that the Paramount Chief of the area, Torgbiga Gbordzekpor IV, together with Torgbi Nuku Mortsi, Torgbi Tameklo, Torgbi Bleketu and other traditional leaders, have demonstrated significant support for the programme.
As part of their support, the traditional rulers have provided canopies and water to facilitate the smooth organization of the programme and create a conducive environment for participants.
The programme is being hosted at the Avetech School premises, where the Headmaster, Mr. Steven Mammah, has also demonstrated his support for the initiative.
The organizers said the cooperation from the traditional authorities and the school management has contributed significantly to preparations for the programme and demonstrates the importance attached to skills development and community empowerment.
The free skills acquisition programme is intended to provide beneficiaries with practical knowledge and skills that can help them create employment opportunities, establish small businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The organizers have therefore encouraged residents, particularly prospective beneficiaries, to take advantage of the opportunity and participate actively in the training.
Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, expressed his profound gratitude to the traditional rulers of Ave-Afiadenyigba for their warm reception, encouragement and generous support towards the programme.
He particularly appreciated their provision of canopies and water, describing the gesture as a demonstration of their commitment to initiatives aimed at empowering and improving the lives of people in the community.
Mr. Evortepe also expressed appreciation to the Headmaster of Avetech School, Mr. Steven Mammah, for his support and cooperation in making the school premises available for the programme.
He said the Foundation remains committed to extending the free skills acquisition programme to other traditional areas as part of its efforts to promote skills development, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment within communities in the Volta Region.
The programme is expected to bring together traditional leaders, beneficiaries, organizers and other stakeholders as Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes, UK based NGO represented by Pastor Adefunke Adeoye, also known as Mamaga Nutefeworla I, continue their skills acquisition initiative across various communities in the Volta Region.
