The Management and Staff of Akatsi General Hospital applauds the humanitarian initiatives of the “hope for the hopeless” initiatives of the Duamenefa and Tanko Foundations to the facility.
Patients were filled with joy as the two Non Governmental Organizations with support from other well meaning individuals visited the facility to spend time with them. The visit focused on compassion and community support, as the donors prayed with patients, shared meals, and offered words of encouragement, bringing smiles and hope to those receiving treatment.

The initiative forms part of a broader program aimed at visiting nine different hospitals and orphanage homes to celebrate with patients and residents through shared meals, prayers, and fellowship in line with the gospel according to Mathew chapter 25:35
The donors explained that the outreach is an annual covenant relationship between the outfits its supporters and God almighty , intended to bring joy, comfort, and spiritual encouragement to vulnerable members of society. By eating with the patients and praying with them, the foundations and their supporters sought to demonstrate love, compassion, and solidarity, while putting smiles on the faces of those going through difficult moments.
Speaking to Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Dordoe David, Acting Hospital Administrator, on behalf of hospital management, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Duamenefa Foundation and their main sponsor, His Excellency Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, the CEO of Tanko Foundation, and their collaborating supporters for bringing what he described as an important donation to the hospital. He said the gesture was highly appreciated and added that he strongly believes that through the visit, prayers, and support, the patients have already received healing, praying that God bless the donors abundantly for their kindness.
Some of the patients also spoke to Fafaa 100.3 FM, expressing their joy and happiness. They said they were glad, adding that the prayers, meals, and fellowship lifted their spirits and gave them renewed hope.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the hospital staff to interact with the donors and share their challenges and needs, helping the foundations better understand how to support healthcare delivery in the region. Staff expressed optimism that continued engagement with community organizations like Duamenefa and Tanko Foundations would strengthen the hospital’s ability to serve patients effectively.
The foundations emphasized that their outreach is part of a wider community support program, which includes not only hospitals but also orphanage homes across the Volta Region. They noted that consistent engagement through prayers, meals, and moral support is essential in uplifting vulnerable members of society and inspiring hope in times of need.
Finally, the visit reinforced the importance of partnerships between community organizations and healthcare institutions. By combining spiritual support, donations, and active participation, the NGO’s and their supporters can make a tangible difference in patients’ lives, helping to create a culture of care, empathy, and communal responsibility in the region.
