Launching of Avenortutudoza 2025

Wlitey, Akatsi – The people of Avenor have officially launched the Avenortutudoza 2025 celebration at the Wlitey JHS Park in Akatsi South, in a colourful and well-attended ceremony that brought together traditional rulers, government officials, assembly members, religious leaders, cultural performers, and enthusiastic residents.

The event was graced by Torgbiga Dorglo Anumah VI, the Paramount Chief of Avenor and President of the Avenor Traditional Council; Hon. Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akatsi South; prominent chiefs from various communities; Honourable Assembly Members; representatives from the Local Council of Churches; and several dignitaries.

Now in its sixth edition, this year’s festival is themed: “Securing the Future of Avenor through Skills Acquisition, Employment, and Economic Growth.”

In his speech, Hon. Daniel Dagba expressed appreciation to the organisers and commended the chiefs for their leadership. He stated that the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly is committed to bringing more development projects to the area. He highlighted improvements in local revenue collection and ongoing road works as key achievements, noting that development requires collaboration between government, traditional authorities, and the people.

Delivering the official launch address, Torgbiga Dorglo Anumah VI assured the people that the Avenor Traditional Council is focused on development and will continue to work with the Assembly and other partners to drive progress. He declared Avenortutudoza 2025 officially launched and announced that the main anniversary celebration would take place in November.

As part of the launch, a fundraising segment was held to support the upcoming anniversary activities. Many dignitaries present made cash donations and pledges toward the successful planning and execution of the main celebration. The gesture was warmly received and praised by the organisers as a sign of unity and commitment to the growth of Avenor.

Organisers also introduced this year’s edition of the Mama Avenor beauty pageant, encouraging young women to register at a fee of GH₵200.00. Attractive prizes await the winners, and the event is proudly sponsored by Hon. William Kpormatsi, a businessman and politician with deep ties to Avenor.

Cultural displays and traditional drumming performances entertained the large audience, celebrating the rich heritage of the Avenor people. The event received media coverage from Fafaa 100.3 FM, Kaleawo FM, Shine FM, Akatsi TV, and others.

In his closing remarks, Torgbui Gadagli V of Alagbokorpe, who chaired the ceremony, commended the organisers and revealed plans to establish an institution focused on bringing sustainable development to Avenor. He said he would engage the Paramount Chief to seek guidance and structure for the initiative.

The Avenortutudoza festival continues to be a rallying point for unity, culture, and development among the people of Avenor, with strong hopes for greater impact in the years ahead.
