The 4th edition of the Fafaa 100.3 FM’s Duamenefa Regional Tournament took place on Saturday, the 27th day of August, 2022. The grand finale was highly successful due to the proud sponsorship of the Tanko Foundation.
An approximate number of participants numbering over 30,000, comprising of prominent stakeholders such as our traditional rulers, reverend ministers, politicians, 28,680 registered and certified volunteers of the Duamenefa Foundation and the general public.
The reputable partnership between Hon. Gabriel Kwamiga Atokple, the CEO of Tanko Foundation and the Duamenefa Foundation was birthed last May at the commencement of the 2022 Duamenefa Regional Tournament (DRT), powered by Fafaa 100.3 FM at Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.
Hon. Atokple, a young and ambitious CEO, who has ardent affection and passion for talent search and human potential development, especially among the young was driven to gladly sieze the opportunity to invest in the worthwhile bid and cause to explore, nurture and develop the hidden talents dotted across the Region through sports and other related activities.
Tanko Foundation, proudly sponsored and funded the gifts and cash awards for the Winners of the 1st to the 8th category of the male division of the football competition. Sixty-One (61) football clubs competed in the four months long tournament from the month 7th May to the 7th August, 2022.
The colorful grand finale was graced by very distinguished personalities such as Mr. Guedes Ribeiro Lopes Luis Pedro Macieirinha, a FIFA lawyer and Scout from Portugal, together with his associates from China and the USA. The MP, Dr. James Klutsey Avedzi was well represented by his NDC party executives.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anthony Ablorde Avorgbedor, used the occasion to commend the efforts of the organizers of the tournament. He also reiterated the commitment of the government to promote sports in the Municipality and the Region through private partnerships such as the good efforts of the Duamenefa Foundation.
Over 100 traditional rulers from various traditional areas of the Volta Region were present. The Clergy, Imams, Prominent Personalities, Delegations from the Regional and National Sports Authorities and the Founding Members of the Duamenefa Foundation were not left out.
The icing on the cake was the presence for the first time of an international dignitary, Guedes Ribeiro Lopes Macieirinha Luis Pedro, a FIFA lawyer and the Publisher of the Football Legal.
Hon. Atokple was so much impressed by the fruitful collaboration and the entire organization of the 4th edition of the DRT. He therefore feverishly looks forward to forging closer and better alliances with the likes of the Duamenefa Foundation towards ensuring that the numerous hidden treasures among the less fortunate and privileged are unearthed, tapped and utilized for the expected benefit of the individuals, their families and the Nation at large.
The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100. 3 Fm, the organizers of the tournament use this occasion to commend the laudable partnership of Tanko Foundation, the headline sponsor of the tournament and other well-meaning individuals and organizations within and outside the country who made it possible to achieve the success of the tournament.
