The Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes have expressed their gratitude to members of the public for their support and participation in a successful free skills acquisition programme aimed at equipping beneficiaries with practical skills to enhance their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.
The programme was organised across six traditional areas in the Volta Region, namely Dzodze, Keta, Anloga, Ave-Afiadenyigba, Klikor and Aflao, giving people from the various communities the opportunity to acquire practical and vocational skills.
Participants received training in several areas, including batik, tie-and-dye, soap making, farming and other practical skills designed to help beneficiaries become self-reliant and create opportunities for themselves.
At the end of the programme, a total of 1,100 people had benefited from the training across the six traditional areas.
The programme was successfully implemented, with participants actively taking part in the various training sessions. The initiative forms part of the efforts of the Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes to empower individuals and communities through skills development and other livelihood-support programmes.
The training also provided participants with an opportunity to interact with experienced trainers and gain practical knowledge that could be developed further into income-generating activities. The organisers believe that equipping people with relevant skills can encourage self-employment and help beneficiaries create sustainable sources of livelihood.
Participants were encouraged to continue practising the techniques they learnt during the training and to share their knowledge with others within their communities. They were also urged to support one another and explore ways of turning their newly acquired skills into sustainable ventures.
The organisers expressed appreciation to the traditional authorities, community leaders, trainers, participants, volunteers and members of the public whose support and cooperation contributed to the success of the programme.
The involvement of the six traditional areas was described as an important aspect of the initiative, as it enabled the programme to reach beneficiaries from different communities across the Volta Region.
Speaking on behalf of the two NGOs after the successful completion of the programme, Madam Fafali Bobobee, Personal Assistant to the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, expressed profound gratitude to everyone who played a role in making the initiative successful.
Madam Bobobee also conveyed the appreciation of Pastor Adefunke Adeoye, also known as Mamaga Nutefeworla I, to all individuals and organisations who supported the programme in various ways.
She particularly thanked the traditional authorities, community leaders, trainers, participants, volunteers and members of the public for their cooperation, support and commitment throughout the programme.
According to her, the successful completion of the skills acquisition exercise demonstrated what could be achieved when individuals, traditional authorities and organisations come together with a common goal of empowering communities.
Madam Bobobee further appreciated all those who contributed their time, resources, expertise and other forms of assistance to ensure that the programme reached the six traditional areas and benefited 1,100 people.
She also encouraged all beneficiaries who participated in the programme to take the skills they had acquired seriously and make good use of the knowledge and practical experience gained during the training.
She urged the beneficiaries to remain committed, practise what they had learnt and put the skills into productive use rather than allowing the knowledge acquired to go to waste.
Madam Bobobee expressed optimism that the skills could create opportunities for the beneficiaries in the days ahead, stressing that something good could come to those who take the training seriously and work diligently with what they have learnt.
She therefore encouraged the beneficiaries to see the programme as the beginning of a journey towards self-reliance and economic empowerment, rather than simply a training exercise.
The organisers also urged beneficiaries to continue developing their skills after the programme and to look for ways to transform their knowledge into practical businesses and other productive activities.
The organisations expressed hope that the impact of the programme would extend beyond the period of training, with beneficiaries using their skills to support themselves, their families and other members of their communities.
They further thanked the traditional authorities and community leaders for creating an enabling environment for the programme and for encouraging residents to participate.
The successful completion of the exercise has encouraged the Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes to continue exploring opportunities to organise similar empowerment programmes in the future.
The two organisations maintained that their focus remains on initiatives that provide practical support to individuals and communities, particularly through skills development, empowerment and opportunities for self-reliance.
