Duamenefa Foundation Appoints Mr. Felix Abusah as Board Member and Pennsylvania Country Director

The Duamenefa Foundation has appointed Mr. Felix Abusah as a new member of its Board and Country Director for Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Mr. Abusah currently serves as Deputy Director of the Brashear Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, where he supports the organisation’s community development, social services, workforce advancement, youth, senior and food assistance programmes. In this leadership role, he works closely with the Executive Director, staff, community partners and other stakeholders to strengthen programme operations, develop partnerships and advance initiatives that improve the well-being of individuals and families in the Pittsburgh community.

The appointment is in recognition of Mr. Abusah’s long-standing commitment, dedication and contributions to the Foundation, as well as his continued efforts toward advancing its vision, programmes and social intervention initiatives.

The announcement was officially made by the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, during the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme on Fafaa 100.3 FM.

Speaking on the programme, Mr. Ketaman explained that the Board arrived at the decision after considering the significant efforts and commitment Mr. Abusah has demonstrated toward the Foundation over the years.

Describing Mr. Abusah as a dedicated member and long-standing contributor to the Foundation, Mr. Ketaman revealed that his relationship with the organisation dates back nearly 20 years.

According to him, Mr. Abusah started working with and supporting the Foundation while he was at the basic school level. His involvement continued through his secondary education and university years, giving him a deep understanding of the Foundation’s vision, programmes and social intervention activities.

Mr. Ketaman said Mr. Abusah’s long association with the Foundation has enabled him to understand its operations and objectives while also allowing him to contribute his knowledge, skills and experience to its growth.

He further disclosed that Mr. Abusah is currently pursuing Ms in Cybersecurity at Robert Morris University, United States, while maintaining his connection with the Foundation and continuing to contribute to its development.

One of the major contributions highlighted by the Executive President was Mr. Abusah’s involvement in academic research. Mr. Ketaman revealed that Mr. Abusah led a team of research students from the Ghana Institute of Journalism in conducting qualitative research for the Foundation.

According to him, the research was among the several initiatives through which Mr. Abusah demonstrated his commitment to the organisation and his willingness to use his academic and professional knowledge to support its work.

Mr. Ketaman explained that Mr. Abusah’s years of service, dedication, academic development, research experience and continuous contribution to the Foundation were key considerations in the Board’s decision to entrust him with the new responsibilities.

He expressed confidence that Mr. Abusah would use his academic exposure and international experience to help advance the Foundation’s objectives, particularly by creating new relationships and opportunities beyond Ghana.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr. Felix Abusah expressed his appreciation to the leadership and Board of the Duamenefa Foundation for the confidence reposed in him.

He said he was very happy about the new role and regarded the appointment as both an honour and an opportunity to do more for an organisation with which he has had a long-standing relationship.

Mr. Abusah pledged to use the opportunity to attract greater support for the Foundation and contribute to the expansion of its programmes and activities.

He said his focus would include building stronger relationships with organisations, institutions and individuals who share the Foundation’s interest in community development and social intervention.

Mr. Abusah further expressed optimism that the Foundation would soon establish a number of partnerships with various non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

According to him, these partnerships could bring additional support, expertise, resources and opportunities to the Foundation and enable it to extend its programmes to more people and communities.

He also expressed his intention to strengthen the Foundation’s international connections, particularly within Pennsylvania and other parts of the United States, while exploring opportunities for collaboration that could benefit the organisation and the communities it serves.

The appointment of Mr. Abusah comes as the Duamenefa Foundation continues its efforts to promote social intervention and community development through various programmes and initiatives.

His new responsibilities are expected to strengthen the Foundation’s presence in the United States and create opportunities for international collaboration, fundraising, institutional partnerships and knowledge exchange.

For Mr. Abusah, the appointment represents another significant chapter in a relationship with the Foundation that began during his formative years and has continued through his secondary education, university studies and current academic journey in the United States.

His journey with the Foundation, according to Mr. Ketaman, demonstrates the organisation’s long-term commitment to nurturing individuals who share its vision and are willing to contribute to its development.

As he assumes his new role, Mr. Abusah is expected to work closely with the Foundation’s leadership and Board to identify new opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and build strategic partnerships that can support the Foundation’s social intervention programmes.

The leadership of the Duamenefa Foundation has expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on the responsibilities entrusted to him, while Mr. Abusah has reaffirmed his commitment to the Foundation’s vision and mission.

With his appointment as Board Member and Country Director for Pennsylvania, the Foundation anticipates a new phase of international engagement and partnership development, with the ultimate goal of expanding its impact and bringing greater support to the communities and people it serves.
