Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, has clarified that the foundation is not an individual welfare support association, but rather an intervention movement established to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and community development.
He made the statement on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme, where he explained the foundation’s vision, objectives and approach to social intervention.
According to Mr. Evortepe, the Duamenefa Foundation is an intervention movement purposely established to promote peaceful coexistence in every community. He said the foundation believes that peace and unity are essential for sustainable development and therefore seeks to encourage individuals and groups to contribute to peaceful communities.
He explained that the foundation collaborates with various NGOs and other organizations and supports its members in several ways. However, he emphasized that the foundation should not be seen as an organization whose primary responsibility is to provide welfare assistance to members individually.
Mr. Evortepe stated that the membership of the Duamenefa Foundation is very large, making it difficult to provide support to members on an individual basis. He said that providing assistance to every member individually would place considerable pressure on the organization and could affect its ability to achieve its broader objectives.
He explained that this challenge informed the introduction of the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme, which is designed to channel support to organized groups within the foundation rather than individuals.
According to him, supporting groups makes it possible for the foundation to reach more people and create a greater impact within communities. He said the group-based approach also encourages members to work together, identify their common needs and develop initiatives that can benefit a wider section of the community.
The Executive President further explained that the foundation’s intervention programmes are intended to empower groups and promote collective development. He said the initiative is not simply about distributing assistance, but about creating opportunities through which groups can receive support and use it to improve their activities and contribute to the development of their communities.
Mr. Evortepe therefore urged members of the foundation to understand its vision and avoid viewing their membership primarily as an opportunity to receive personal financial assistance.
He also called on NGOs, institutions, development partners and other organizations to collaborate with the Duamenefa Foundation in advancing its social intervention programmes. He said stronger partnerships could enable the movement to reach more groups and communities with meaningful interventions.
He emphasized that peace remains at the centre of the foundation’s activities and urged members to take their responsibilities seriously.
Mr. Evortepe stated that anyone who has joined or plans to join the Duamenefa Foundation movement should understand that they are becoming an advocate of peaceful coexistence in every community.
He encouraged members to serve as ambassadors of peace by promoting tolerance, unity, mutual respect and understanding among people, regardless of their differences.
He said members should not only expect support from the foundation but should also contribute to its vision by taking part in activities that promote peace, unity and development.
The Executive President further appealed to members to work together and support one another through their respective groups. He said collective participation and commitment would strengthen the foundation and enable it to achieve its objective of making a positive impact in communities.
He concluded by reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence and supporting community-based initiatives, while calling on all members to embrace the vision and become active agents of peace wherever they live and operate.
