The Duamenefa Foundation, in collaboration with Treasures of His Eyes, is set to organise a skills empowerment programme for members of the Duamenefa community as part of activities leading up to the 2026 Duamenefa Grand Durbar.
The initiative is aimed at equipping members with practical skills to promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
The announcement was made by the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, on Fafaa 100.3 FM during discussions on preparations for the upcoming Grand Durbar.
The 2026 Duamenefa Grand Durbar is scheduled to take place at the Klikor Unity Park on 28th November 2026.
According to Mr. Evortepe, the skills empowerment programme has been organised in previous years through the collaboration between the Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes, and the initiative will continue this year.
He explained that the programme is designed to equip participants with practical skills that can be used to establish businesses, create employment opportunities and improve their livelihoods.
Participants are expected to receive training in areas including soap making, batik tie-and-dye and farming, among other practical skills.
Mr. Evortepe encouraged Duamenefa members and other interested persons to prepare themselves and take advantage of the opportunity to acquire skills that can be applied beyond the training period.
He also appealed to beneficiaries of previous editions who have successfully established workshops, businesses or other activities using the skills they acquired to inform the Foundation about their progress.
According to him, identifying previous beneficiaries who are actively practising their acquired skills would enable the Foundation to assess the impact of earlier programmes and determine where additional support may be needed.
He stressed that the objective of the initiative should go beyond simply acquiring skills, encouraging beneficiaries to put their knowledge into practice and develop sustainable businesses and income-generating activities.
The Executive President further urged previous beneficiaries to maintain contact with the Foundation and share information about their businesses and workshops.
He said their experiences could help the Foundation identify successful outcomes from earlier editions while also highlighting areas where further assistance could be provided.
Mr. Evortepe expressed appreciation to the founder of Treasures of His Eyes, Rev. Adefunke Adeoye, also known as Mamaga Nutefeworla I, for her contribution and continued collaboration in supporting the empowerment of members of the Duamenefa community.
He acknowledged the role of Treasures of His Eyes in the initiative and said the partnership would continue to provide opportunities for members to acquire practical skills that could improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Evortepe urged members to take the programme seriously and prepare to participate when the activities officially begin.
He also encouraged the public to follow announcements from the Duamenefa Foundation regarding the skills programme and other activities connected to the 2026 Grand Durbar.
He described the upcoming initiative as an important opportunity for members and encouraged them to remain prepared and expectant.
“This important programme is loading,” Mr. Evortepe said, urging Duamenefa members to look forward to the initiative.
