Duamenefa Foundation has commended the traditional rulers of the Aflao Traditional Area for their prompt intervention following a petition submitted to the Foundation for investigation and intervention.
The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, made the remarks on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Foundation’s social intervention programme.
According to Mr. Evortepe, the Aflao Traditional Rulers, under the leadership of His Royal Majesty Torgbiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, quickly intervened after learning that a petition from the area had been submitted to the Duamenefa Foundation for investigation and intervention.
He described the action by the traditional rulers as a positive and commendable move, saying the Foundation truly appreciates their willingness to intervene in matters concerning members of their community.
Mr. Evortepe explained that the commendation followed a recent petition submitted to the Duamenefa Foundation concerning an alleged dispute between two young men over a woman, in which one of the young men was allegedly attacked.
He said that while the Foundation was in the process of investigating the petition, the Aflao Traditional Rulers promptly stepped in and expressed their willingness to intervene in the matter.
As part of the intervention, a withdrawal letter was submitted to the Duamenefa Foundation. The letter, signed by Torgbi Trɔnua Sadzi II, Chief in charge of Spiritual Matters at the palace of Torgbiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, indicated the traditional authority’s willingness to intervene and seek an appropriate resolution to the matter.
The Executive President said the Foundation considers the intervention of the traditional rulers a demonstration of their commitment to maintaining peace, unity and social harmony within the Aflao Traditional Area.
He noted that the prompt response of the traditional authorities demonstrates the important role traditional leadership continues to play in addressing disputes and concerns within their communities.
Mr. Evortepe further stated that the Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Torgbiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, has consistently worked hand in hand with the Duamenefa Foundation in various ways to promote peace, address community concerns and support social interventions.
He said the cordial relationship and cooperation between the Paramount Chief, the traditional authority and the Duamenefa Foundation deserve recognition and commendation, particularly when such collaboration contributes to the peaceful resolution of issues within the community.
According to him, the actions of the Aflao Traditional Rulers were truly appreciated by the Foundation because their prompt intervention reflects exactly what the Duamenefa Foundation seeks to achieve through its social intervention efforts.
He explained that saving lives, preventing conflicts and promoting peaceful coexistence remain among the Foundation’s main purposes, stressing that any intervention that helps prevent a situation from escalating is highly valued by the Foundation.
Mr. Evortepe said the traditional rulers’ decision to intervene was therefore welcomed by the Foundation, as early intervention in disputes can help prevent disagreements from developing into more serious situations.
He stressed that the Foundation’s role in receiving and investigating petitions is to ensure that concerns brought before it are properly examined and addressed through appropriate channels.
He also stated that the Duamenefa Foundation remains committed to working closely with traditional rulers, particularly the Aflao Traditional Authority, to prevent conflicts, promote peace and save lives.
According to him, the Foundation values the support and cooperation of traditional leaders and believes that working together with them will help address community concerns promptly and prevent disputes from escalating into situations that could threaten lives and peaceful coexistence.
Mr. Evortepe expressed appreciation to His Royal Majesty Torgbiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V and the traditional rulers of the Aflao Traditional Area for their prompt response and willingness to intervene in the matter.
He encouraged traditional authorities to remain responsive to concerns involving members of their communities and to continue working with relevant organisations whenever their intervention could help prevent disputes from escalating.
He reiterated the Duamenefa Foundation’s commitment to investigating petitions brought before it and working with traditional leaders, community stakeholders and other relevant institutions to find peaceful and appropriate solutions to disputes.
Mr. Evortepe said the Foundation remains committed to promoting peace, justice, social responsibility and the protection of community interests through its social intervention programmes, adding that saving lives remains at the heart of the Foundation’s mission.
