Duamenefa Foundation Congratulates Nukunu FC on Historic Qualification to Division One

The Duamenefa Foundation has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Nukunu FC following the club’s historic qualification to Division One. The achievement marks a major milestone in the team’s development and highlights the hard work, discipline, and determination shown throughout the season. The Foundation commended the players, technical team, management, and supporters for their commitment, describing the promotion as a proud moment for the club and its community.

This congratulatory message was delivered by Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, the Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, during an interview on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM as part of the Foundation’s social intervention programme. He noted that reports received by the Foundation indicated that Nukunu FC, founded by Hon. Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North Municipality in the Volta Region, emerged as champions of the just-ended Division Two League.

According to him, the club’s consistent performance throughout the season enabled them to finish in first position, thereby securing automatic qualification to Division One football. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and teamwork demonstrated by both players and technical staff.

Mr. Evortepe stated that on behalf of the Duamenefa Foundation, he extends warm congratulations to the team for successfully winning the title after a highly competitive and challenging season. He noted that such success stories are worth celebrating because they inspire other young teams within the municipality and beyond.

He described the achievement as a very great one, adding that it brings significant progress and pride to the Ketu North Municipal Assembly and represents a commendable milestone for the entire municipality. According to him, this development places the area on a positive sporting map within the Volta Region.

He further commended Hon. Edem Agbana and the entire technical team, players, and management for their commitment, discipline, and hard work, which contributed to this historic achievement. He stressed that leadership and proper coordination played a key role in the club’s success.

Mr. Evortepe also acknowledged the support of Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, and Hon. Rev. Martin Amenaki, praising their continuous backing which helped create an enabling environment for the team’s success. He noted that such support from stakeholders is essential for sports development.

He added that the promotion of Nukunu FC to Division One football is expected to significantly boost youth engagement in sports across the municipality. According to him, it will also encourage young talents to take football seriously as a career path.

He further stated that grassroots sports development remains a key tool for community transformation and youth empowerment. He explained that when properly supported, local clubs can become strong platforms for talent identification and national recognition.

Mr. Evortepe emphasized that football is not only a sport but also a unifying factor that brings communities together. He noted that Nukunu FC’s success is a reflection of teamwork, discipline, and collective effort, which should be emulated by other clubs.
