The Executive President of Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, has stated that the two institutions were established with a clear mission to address inequalities, influence policies and shift societal norms to improve community wellbeing. We build coalitions to address root causes of injustice. This is why the foundation registered over 48,654 volunteers to pursue its mandate, acting as a bridge between affected populations and power-holders
He made this statement on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa Programme on Tuesday while congratulating the Ghana Education Service for taking swift action on the Dzodze Penyi Senior High School sexual misconduct allegations. The action by the Ghana Education Service came just a few days after Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM launched its advocacy in this regards.
According to Mr. Evortepe, the prompt response from the Ghana Education Service shows the importance of responsible media and community advocacy. He noted that when issues affecting society are highlighted with sincerity and truth, the appropriate authorities are expected to act swiftly in the interest of justice.
Mr. Evortepe emphasized that Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM’s mission is to advocate on behalf of the marginalized groups and empower communities to take action.
Mr. Evortepe further explained that their operations are centered on promoting accountability, development, and positive change within communities.
He further stated that those who do not understand the work of Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM should come to appreciate that their focus is to transform lives and help put a stop to wrongdoing in society. He stressed that the foundation and the radio station remain committed to serving the people with integrity, courage, and dedication to community development.
The Duamenefa Foundation is a non-governmental organization with a registered membership of 48,654 and counting. Its headquarters is located at Dzodze in the Volta Region, but it also maintains offices across the country and even internationally. Fafaa 100.3 FM, also established in Dzodze, operates under the maxim “Information for Intervention”, aiming to use media as a tool to inform, educate, and create actionable change in society.
He also noted that Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM have been involved in several community projects, including educational awareness campaigns, youth empowerment programs, and initiatives to promote ethical leadership. These efforts, he said, are designed to address underlying social issues that often lead to misconduct and other challenges in schools and communities.
Commenting on media responsibility, Mr. Evortepe said that radio stations and other media outlets have a duty to inform, educate, and advocate for justice. “When media houses use their platform to highlight real issues, they are helping society progress rather than creating division,” he added.
Mr. Evortepe further explained that the purpose of Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM is to target systemic issues, advocate focus on writing the wrongs, work with the system to act as reformers, and we are aware the wrong doers may apply pressure from the outside but our resilience and strategic communication and commitment to justice would prevail
Finally, Mr. Evortepe urged community members, parents, and students to collaborate with institutions like Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM. By reporting misconduct, supporting positive initiatives, and holding authorities accountable, he said, everyone can play a role in ensuring safe, transparent, and well-functioning communities.
