The Paramount Chief of the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area and President of the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Council of Chiefs, Torgbiga Nyamekor Glakpe V, has appealed to the government, non-governmental organizations, and investors both home and abroad to support the development of the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area.
He made this call on Monday, 17th November 2025, when the Duamenefa Foundation Executive Committee, led by its Executive President, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, popularly known as Torgbui Duamenefa I, paid an official visit to his palace. The visit formed part of the Foundation’s efforts to express appreciation to the traditional leaders for their vital roles during the recently celebrated Duamenefa Grand Durbar, and to discuss ways to promote development across the various traditional areas.
According to Torgbiga Nyamekor Glakpe V, the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area has vast lands available for major development projects, including companies, markets, and other essential infrastructure. He emphasized that the lands are ready for investment and urged government agencies, NGOs, and private investors to take advantage of the opportunity.
The Paramount Chief further noted that although Ave-Dakpa has a market, it lacks the necessary infrastructure to make it vibrant and attractive to traders. He stressed that improving the market infrastructure will help boost economic activity in the area but cannot be left to the government alone. He therefore appealed to NGOs, philanthropists, and investors locally and internationally to support the development of the market.
Torgbiga Nyamekor Glakpe V also highlighted the presence of many talented youth in football within the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area. He expressed gratitude to the Duamenefa Foundation for its ongoing efforts in promoting young football talents across the region. He stated that the traditional leadership is ready to collaborate with the Foundation so that gifted youth in Ave-Dakpa can advance, receive proper exposure, and achieve their dreams in football.
In addition, Torgbiga Nyamekor Glakpe V emphasized that the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area holds great potential for social and economic transformation if given the right attention. He explained that the area’s youthful population, fertile lands, and strategic location make it a viable destination for investors seeking opportunities in agriculture, sports development, commerce, and infrastructure. He stated that with proper collaboration between traditional authorities and development partners, Ave-Dakpa could become a model community for sustainable growth in the Volta Region.
The Paramount Chief also expressed his commitment, together with his council of chiefs, to create a peaceful and welcoming environment for all development initiatives. He assured that the traditional leadership is ready to support, guide, and work hand in hand with any institution or individual willing to help uplift the area. According to him, the people of Ave-Dakpa are united, hardworking, and eager to embrace progress, and therefore deserve every opportunity to benefit from developmental projects that can improve their standard of living.
He concluded by urging the Duamenefa Foundation to continue amplifying the concerns of the traditional leaders so that their voices will reach far, attract support, and contribute to the realization of the community’s developmental aspirations.
