Madam Gbeda Kpormegbe, a 68-year-old rice farmer from Weta Atsavi in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, has petitioned the Duamenefa Foundation over what she describes as persistent spiritual attacks that she says have affected her life for the past 24 years.
According to her petition, Madam Kpormegbe said she had been experiencing what she described as spiritual attacks for more than 24 years, which she claimed had negatively affected her life.
She said she had consulted several soothsayers in an attempt to determine the cause of what she described as her alleged spiritual illness. According to her, the consultations pointed to a man identified as Hunor Katinka as allegedly being responsible for her condition.
Madam Kpormegbe said she subsequently approached Katinka and asked whether he was responsible for her illness or knew anything about it. She alleged that he admitted knowing something about the situation and subsequently asked her to provide some items for what he described as spiritual direction to help free her.
She said she provided the requested items and stayed with him for more than a year, but did not observe any positive change in her condition.
According to her, she later caused the matter to be brought before traditional rulers for intervention. However, she said the intervention did not yield the desired results, leaving her still searching for answers to the difficulties she says she has experienced over the years.
Madam Kpormegbe further stated that her current situation remains serious and that she continues to experience what she describes as spiritual attacks. She therefore appealed to the Duamenefa Foundation to intervene, investigate the matter and help establish the facts surrounding her allegations.
She explained that the prolonged ordeal had caused her considerable distress and had affected her life over the years. As a rice farmer, she said the situation had also made it difficult for her to go about her livelihood and live normally.
The Duamenefa Foundation, after receiving the petition, considered the matter an emergency and immediately commenced investigations into the allegations raised by Madam Kpormegbe.
The Foundation has urged all parties involved to remain calm and cooperate with the investigation as efforts continue to establish the facts surrounding the case.
The Foundation has conducted its undercover independent investigation between the petitioner and the person named in her petition, as well as relevant traditional authorities and other individuals who may have information that could help clarify the circumstances surrounding her claims.
Madam Kpormegbe has expressed hope that the intervention will bring clarity to her situation and help address the difficulties she says she has endured for more than two decades.
Duamenefa Foundation is appealing to community members and other stakeholders to allow the investigative process to take its course and avoid making premature conclusions while the Foundation works to establish the facts.
The Foundation has reiterated its call for calm as the investigation continues, stressing the importance of cooperation from all parties to help bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion.
The outcome of the investigation is expected to provide further clarity on the issues raised in the petition.
