The Duamenefa Foundation has paid tribute to the late His Royal Majesty Torgbiga Addo VIII, describing his passing as a significant loss to the Klikor Traditional Area in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
The Foundation commended the late traditional ruler for his leadership, commitment to the welfare of his people, and support for initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity, and community development.
The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation, Mr. Ketaman Emmanuel Evortepe, expressed the Foundation’s condolences during an interview on Fafaa 100.3 FM.
According to Mr. Evortepe, Torgbiga Addo VIII played an important role in the activities of the Foundation and contributed in various ways to the development of the Klikor, Anlo, Aflao, Some’ Ave, Avenor, Ziope, Traditional Areas, The Volta Regional House Of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs.
He recalled that the late traditional ruler was among the traditional leaders who actively supported the Foundation, particularly during the voluntary registration of residents of the traditional area as members.
Mr. Evortepe explained that Torgbiga Addo VIII personally made himself available during the membership registration exercise and encouraged his people to participate. He said the traditional ruler’s involvement contributed to attracting a significant number of people from the area to join the Foundation.
He described the late traditional ruler’s support as an indication of his commitment to initiatives focused on improving the welfare of his people and promoting unity and development within the community.
Mr. Evortepe said Torgbiga Addo VIII’s relationship with the Foundation went beyond ceremonial support, noting that he demonstrated genuine interest in programmes that sought to contribute to the development of the Klikor Traditional Area.
He added that the late traditional ruler’s guidance and encouragement served as a source of motivation to the Foundation in pursuing its objectives and supporting communities.
According to him, the absence of Torgbiga Addo VIII will be deeply felt by the people of the Klikor Traditional Area, traditional authorities, the Duamenefa Foundation, and all who benefited from his leadership and service.
On behalf of the Foundation, Mr. Evortepe extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, traditional authorities, and the people of the Klikor Traditional Area.
He assured the family of the Foundation’s support during the mourning period and said the organisation would work within its capacity to contribute to the funeral arrangements.
The funeral rites of the late Torgbiga Addo VIII are scheduled for October 2026, with family members, traditional authorities, friends, sympathisers, and well-wishers expected to gather to honour his memory and pay their final respects.
Mr. Evortepe said the Foundation would collaborate with the bereaved family and relevant traditional authorities to support the funeral arrangements and help ensure that the late traditional ruler receives a dignified farewell.
He further called on members of the Foundation, traditional leaders, and community members to honour the legacy of Torgbiga Addo VIII by promoting peace, unity, development, and service to humanity.
He encouraged the bereaved family to remain strong during the period of mourning and take consolation in the positive impact the late traditional ruler made through his leadership and commitment to community development.
Mr. Evortepe reaffirmed the Duamenefa Foundation’s commitment to supporting the bereaved family throughout the mourning and funeral period while preserving and celebrating the legacy of the late Torgbiga Addo VIII.
