The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, has called on the public to actively support their communities in any positive way possible to promote unity and development. He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and cooperation among residents in strengthening local communities and improving the wellbeing of people at the grassroots level.
Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe made this statement on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM on Monday during the Agoo Intervention Morning Show hosted by Abass Seidu when he was invited to speak about a news report concerning his donation of street lights to the Vui community at a location known as Ketaman Junction.
He explained that not everything should be left solely to government authorities, stressing that individuals must also take responsibility for supporting the development of their own communities. According to him, community development is a shared duty and every contribution, no matter how small, plays an important role in improving lives.
Mr. Evortepe further noted that the area where the street lights were installed was very dark at night, which made it unsafe and uncomfortable for residents. He said the concern was brought to his attention by Duamenefa Reporter Mr. Godwin Lumor, who highlighted the issue during his community reporting work.
He added that after receiving the information, he provided and installed street lights at the location to improve visibility and ensure the area is well lit at night. He emphasized that this intervention was aimed at enhancing safety and making the environment more conducive for residents.
Mr. Evortepe therefore encouraged everyone to support their communities in any way possible, urging people to contribute positively to the development of their hometowns, whether through small or large efforts.
He further indicated that small community interventions such as street lighting, drainage improvements, and basic infrastructure support can significantly reduce accidents, improve security, and enhance the general wellbeing of residents. He noted that such initiatives help complement government efforts in reaching more areas that may not receive immediate attention.
He also encouraged the youth to take active roles in community development by participating in voluntary work and local improvement projects. According to him, young people are key drivers of development and their involvement can bring lasting positive change to their communities.
Mr. Evortepe added that poor community conditions such as dark roads and lack of basic amenities often contribute to avoidable challenges, including insecurity and discomfort. He stressed that consistent community support and cooperation can help address such issues effectively over time.
He reiterated that community development requires unity, commitment, and a shared sense of responsibility, adding that when individuals take initiative to support their environment, it helps to complement government efforts and brings meaningful development to society.
