Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 Fm – Broadcasting Petitions for Investigation and Intervention with Due Diligence.

The Executive President of Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Mr. Ketaman Evortepe Emmanuel, assured the public that the Foundation conducts thorough consultations before airing petitions. He made the statement on Sunday, 1st February 2026, during the live broadcast of the Duamenefa Programme on Fafaa 100.3 FM, in an interaction with Torgbiga Dadzie V, the Paramount Chief of Penyi Traditional Area and President of the Council of Chiefs.

The discussion was prompted by a petition from a resident of Penyi by the name Dotsey Avlorvi, concerning an alleged charm buried on a piece of land, by Fiator Atsigbie, which reportedly put the life of his family at risk and required urgent investigation.

During the programme, Torgbiga Dadzie V stated that he personally allowed the complainant to send the petition to Duamenefa Foundation for investigation, as the defendant had failed to comply with the decision of the arbitration held in his palace earlier.

In response, Mr. Ketaman Evortepe Emmanuel emphasized that the Foundation does not simply broadcast petitions on air. He stated that before any petition is aired, the Foundation conducts pre production investigations and thorough consultations with all parties involved and other relevant authorities, ensuring that everyone agrees with the investigation process before it goes on air .

He added that in reference to the current investigation being conducted at Penyi Zukpe, the Duamenefa Foundation called on the Paramount Chief, Torgbiga Dadzie V, regarding the matter. The Paramount Chief personally allowed the Foundation to move forward with the investigation, and the accused also gave their consent for the investigation to proceed before the matter was broadcast on air. This process ensured that relevant authorities could intervene promptly to save a life.

Mr. Ketaman further clarified that Duamenefa Foundation is not a court; it only investigates matters and engages relevant authorities to intervene where necessary, particularly in situations where a life may be at risk.

He also addressed public perception, saying that those who think the Foundation just jumps into matters without due process are mistaken. He emphasized that many consultations are conducted off-air, and the matter only comes on air when it is deemed necessary for public hearing, after all parties and authorities have been properly engaged.

The Paramount Chief also provided the public with details of the case, explaining the events surrounding the alleged charm and the steps he has taken to resolve the matter through arbitration and consultation with his stool father and other stakeholders.

Mr. Evortepe added that the Duamenefa Foundation’s approach is aimed at promoting transparency, fairness, and responsible journalism, while respecting traditional authority and the rule of law. He stated that the Foundation will continue to collaborate with the Paramount Chief, relevant institutions such as the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), the Ghana Police Service, and the Centre for National Culture, and community stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and thorough resolution of the dispute.

The interaction between the Foundation and Torgbiga Dadzie V highlights the commitment of both traditional authorities and media organizations to address sensitive matters responsibly and publicly, ensuring that investigations are conducted with due diligence before any airing of petitions that could impact lives.

Additionally, Mr. Ketaman noted that the Foundation’s work is intended to build trust between the public, traditional leaders, and the authorities. By engaging all parties before reporting on sensitive issues, Duamenefa Foundation aims to prevent misunderstandings and unnecessary panic in the community while ensuring that justice and safety are prioritized.

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with traditional leaders, who are often the first point of call in resolving local disputes. The cooperation of Torgbiga Dadzie V in this case, Mr. Ketaman said, demonstrates how traditional authority and media can work hand in hand to safeguard lives and maintain community harmony, especially when matters involve spiritual or cultural practices.

Finally, the Executive President reassured the public that the Foundation will continue to act responsibly in its investigative work, encouraging citizens to come forward with genuine petitions while trusting that due process, verification, and consultation with relevant stakeholders will guide all reporting. This, he said, is critical for maintaining both credibility in the media and the safety of individuals involved in sensitive cases.
