THE EDITORIAL POLICY
- Background
FAFAA 100.3 FM in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dubbed DUAMENEFA FOUNDATION Located at Dzodze Adagbledu Agbelitsime in the Volta Region of the republic of Ghana is established for the purpose of intervention with special bias for investigation and intervention in “spiritual matters” to save the vulnerable from human right abuse. While Fafaa 100.3 Fm station is a profit oriented commercial radio station, its ally the Duamenefa Foundation is Non-Profit Organization mandated to promote peaceful coexistent of people in the various communities through investigation and intervention to reconcile hitherto antagonistic diabolical and spiritual conflicts. The station operates in pursuant to commercial licenses issued by the National Communications Authority (“NCA”). To maintain the integrity of its licenses, Fafaa 100.3 Fm operate its station in conformance with all applicable laws, including NCA rules, and in a manner that reinforces the trust that the public places in Fafaa 100.3 Fm.
Board of Directors, Management, and the Community Advisory Board all play important, separate and distinct roles in ensuring both compliance with applicable rules and in formulating, implementing or evaluating Fafaa 100.3 Fm programming policies.
- Policy Purpose
Fafaa 100.3 Fm and its ally, the Duamenefa Foundation recognizes that it must exercise diligence and discipline in order to maintain its reputation as a trusted source of investigation and intervention news, educational material, entertainment, and information (“Programming”). The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Crystal Lens Radio, (Fafaa 100.3 Fm) and its Duamenefa Foundation:
- adheres to the highest professional broadcasting standards,
- complies with its mission and vision statement,
- has the ability to maintain its independence and creative freedom with regard to creating and disseminating content, and
- Is not faced with undue influence from either internal or external sources.
The Mission Statement
The Mission of Fafaa 100.3 Fm is to deliver fresh and compelling content for investigation and intervention with special focus on the seven pillars of the society, i.e. Religion, Family, Governance, Education, Media, Arts and Business (diverse practice from the mono grosso system)
Vision Statement
To generate authentic information through investigation and Intervention in line with the provisions of the 1992 constitutions of the republic of Ghana and to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and lawful agencies to save the vulnerable whose right and privileges are being trampled upon through spiritual and diabolical manipulation and orchestrations. To be reckoned with as an unsurpassed intervention radio.
- Undue Influence
For purposes of this policy, “undue influence” shall mean intentionally coercive behavior undertaken by any source – including but not limited to governmental agencies, private corporations, funders, audience members, news or content sources, powerful individuals, or special interest groups – that seeks to influence or interfere with the fair and balanced, professional creation of content for news coverage or programming.
(This policy is not intended to diminish or prevent internal editing or quality control practices designed to ensure the maintenance of professional journalistic and/or program production standards.)
- Editorial Quality
(a) Programming shall be consistent with Fafaa 100.3 Fm‘s mission statement- to deliver fresh and compelling content for intervention (Diverse from the usual Mono Grosso System)
(b) Programming shall be of a high professional quality and, in its totality, represent a well-balanced diversity of views.
(c) Programming shall be credible, accurate, fair, valuable, stimulating, and relevant to Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s audience.
(d) Programming decisions shall be made in compliance with all legal requirements and applicable industry ethical guidelines. (Broadcasting Standards)
(e) At all times, Fafaa 100.3 Fm shall strive for transparency regarding its Programming and funding decisions.
- News Quality
- The quality of news shall conform to the vision statement of Fafaa 100.3 Fm.
- Duamenefa “Spiritual Matters” Social Intervention News Items shall collaborate with relevant stakeholders and lawful agencies to save the vulnerable
- The quality of news shall hold duty bearers accountable to the people at the grassroot.
- The quality of news shall not be partisan in presentation but fair and objective maintaining the duality of news presentation
- The quality of news shall always be presented if the news is substantiated by checking, cross checking and counter checking with proofs, without recourse to a concern party who refuse to speak to issues.
- The quality of news shall not seek to promote any political party or an individual
- The quality of news shall always have national and international networking modules
- The quality of news shall always have news follow up register until Fafaa 100.3 Fm produces results
- Goals
(a) To generate content for investigation and intervention to save the lives of the vulnerable who are dying miserably through manipulation and orchestration of demonic and spiritual powers.
(b) Fafaa 100.3 Fm shall maintain editorial independence in the creation of all Programming.
(b1) Decisions of editorial and programming staff shall remain independent from the undue influence of any internal or external source.
(c) All on-air personalities and production personnel should be aware of and strictly comply with NCA rules and Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s policy
(d) Editorial and journalistic functions shall operate freely from any undue influence from business, marketing, or funding functions within Fafaa 100.3fm.
(e) Fafaa 100.3 fm’s journalists shall conform their activities to the most current ethical guidelines of broadcasting standards
- Oversight
(a) Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Management will be responsible for day-to-day Programming content and scheduling decisions.
(B) Fafaa 100.3 fm’s management will draft detailed procedures when and as necessary for staff to follow to ensure compliance with this Policy.
(c) Fafaa 100. 3 Fm’s management will ensure that staff are aware of and comply with Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s conflict of interest policies.
(d) Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Management will use care in the selection of Programming subject matter and the way it is expressed.
(e) Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Management will exercise appropriate oversight to ensure that the above goals are met and that Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s staff complies in all material regards with this Policy.
(f) Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s management oversight will include regular reports to the Board of Directors.
(g) In the event that a particular editorial decision may have a significant public impact or could potentially result in material harm to Fafaa 100.3 Fm, Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Management will consult with the Board of Directors in advance of the Programming being distributed to the public, if advance notice is possible; otherwise Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Management will notify the Board within a reasonable period.
(h) Fafaa 100. 3 Fm’s management and the Board of Directors will consult on a regular basis with the Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Community Advisory Board for advice and community feedback regarding Fafaa 100.3 Fm’s Programming.
(i) The oversight of the Board of Directors regarding Fafaa 100.3’s Management’s editorial decisions and practices will be exercised in a manner that is consistent with the Board’s fiduciary duties to Fafaa 100.3 Fm.
(j) This Policy will be reviewed annually by the Management and Board of Directors.
