The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, has called on the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Police Service to act swiftly following the emergence of fresh allegations of sexual scandals committed by Mr Vincent TOVOR, an Ewe Teacher of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School.
Mr. Evortepe made this statement on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 FM during the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme.
Mr. TOVOR, the Ewe teacher of Dzodze-Penyi SHS is alleged of engaging in sexual misconduct with a 17-year-old final-year student. Meanwhile, the previous allegation against the headmaster is still under investigation by the GES, this necessitated the urgent need for authorities to conclude investigations and take necessary action to protect students.
The Executive President stressed that the role of the media and organizations like the Duamenefa Foundation is to safeguard vulnerable members of the community and ensure that wrongdoers are identified, while also supporting the relevant authorities in carrying out their duties. He urged the public to allow the investigation process to take its course without interference, noting that any delays or obstruction could put students at further risk.
He appealed to the GES, the Ghana Police, and other relevant institutions to expedite their findings and provide clarity on both the previous and current cases. According to him, timely action is critical to prevent further harm, maintain trust in the educational system, and ensure that justice is served for the victims and their families.
The Executive President further stated that Dzodze-Penyi SHS has produced high-standard personalities who now hold positions of responsibility both within Ghana and abroad. Hearing allegations of sexual misconduct linked to the school is therefore deeply troubling, and something must be done urgently to stop this bad behavior and protect the school’s reputation.
He added that if authorities had acted quickly after the first allegation, and promptly communicated their findings and way forward, the second allegation would not have emerged so quickly. He therefore urged the GES and other relevant bodies to take swift action in the current case to prevent further harm to students and the school community.
The Executive President emphasized that the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM take this news very seriously because they want Dzodze-Penyi SHS to maintain its record of producing exemplary graduates. He stated that the Foundation and the station will not remain silent when bad actors threaten to tarnish the school’s reputation.
He also expressed his sympathy to the affected student and her family, describing the allegations as deeply disturbing. He reiterated that Fafaa 100.3 FM and the Duamenefa Foundation will continue to follow up on the story responsibly, providing accurate updates while respecting due process and the law.
Community members have expressed concern over the recent developments, with many urging authorities to act quickly while others have called for calm to ensure that investigations are thorough and impartial. The incident has sparked broader discussions in the municipality about child protection, school safety, and accountability for educators.
Stakeholders have also highlighted the need for schools to implement strong child protection policies and provide students with safe channels to report any form of abuse. Experts believe that fostering awareness among students and staff can prevent similar cases in the future and strengthen community trust in educational institutions.
Parents and guardians have been urged to actively engage with school management and monitor the welfare of their children to ensure that students are protected from misconduct. Many community leaders have called for regular sensitization programs and strict enforcement of ethical standards for teachers and school administrators.
Meanwhile, the Duamenefa Foundation has reiterated its commitment to supporting institutions in handling sensitive cases transparently while safeguarding the rights of all parties involved. By advocating for accountability and swift action, the Foundation hopes to create a safer learning environment for students and restore confidence in Dzodze-Penyi SHS.
With the urgent intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation and the attention of authorities, stakeholders hope that swift action will be taken to protect students, hold culprits accountable, and prevent further cases of misconduct within the school.
